因为承受产业若是出于律法，就不再是出于应许；但上帝是凭着应许把产业赐给亚伯拉罕。

若云嗣業係據律法、則不復淵源於恩諾矣。然而嗣業、固天主所許於亞伯漢之恩賜也。

For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise; but God in his grace gave it to Abraham through a promise.

The great gift that God has for us does not depend on the law. If it did, it would no longer depend on the promise. But God gave it to Abraham as a free gift through a promise.

For if the inheritance comes by the law, it no longer comes by promise; but God gave it to Abraham by a promise.

For if the inheritance could be received by keeping the law, then it would not be the result of accepting God’s promise. But God graciously gave it to Abraham as a promise.

这样你们才不会懒惰，却成为效法那些藉着信和忍耐承受应许的人。当初上帝应许亚伯拉罕的时候，因为没有比自己更大的可以指着起誓，就指着自己起誓，说：“我必多多赐福给你；我必使你大大增多。”这样，亚伯拉罕因恒心等待而得了所应许的。

因为上帝给亚伯拉罕和他后裔承受世界的应许不是藉着律法，而是藉着信而得的义。若是属于律法的人才是后嗣，信就落空了，应许也就失效了。因为律法是惹动愤怒的，哪里没有律法，哪里就没有过犯。所以，人作后嗣是出于信，因此就属乎恩，以致应许保证归给所有的后裔，不但归给那属于律法的，也归给那效法亚伯拉罕之信的人。亚伯拉罕所信的是那叫死人复活、使无变为有的上帝，在这位上帝面前亚伯拉罕成为我们众人的父，如经上所记：“我已经立你作多国之父。”

他向我们列祖施怜悯，记得他的圣约，就是他对我们祖宗亚伯拉罕所起的誓，

有哪一个神明像你，赦免罪孽，饶恕他产业中余民的罪过？他不永远怀怒，喜爱施恩。他必转回怜悯我们，把我们的罪孽踏在脚下。你必将他们一切的罪投于深海。你必按古时向我们列祖起誓的话，以信实待雅各，向亚伯拉罕施慈爱。

若是儿女，就是后嗣，是上帝的后嗣，和基督同作后嗣。如果我们和他一同受苦，是要我们和他一同得荣耀。

我不废掉上帝的恩；如果义是藉着律法而获得，那么基督就白白死了。

其实，你们藉着信，在基督耶稣里都成为上帝的儿女。

那些应许原是向亚伯拉罕和他后裔说的，并不是说“和众后裔”，指许多人，而是说“和你那个后裔”，指一个人，就是基督。

这都因他记念他的圣言和他的仆人亚伯拉罕。

凡出于律法的行为都是受诅咒的，因为经上记着：“凡不持守律法书上所记的一切而去行的，都是受诅咒的。”

既然你们属于基督，你们就是亚伯拉罕的子孙，是照着应许承受产业的了。

律法并不出于信，而是说：“行这些事的就必因此得生。”

他扶助了他的仆人以色列，不忘记施怜悯，正如他对我们的列祖说过，‘怜悯亚伯拉罕和他的后裔，直到永远。’”
