這樣，律法和神的應許是對立的嗎？絕對不是。如果所賜下的律法能使人得生命，義就真的是出於律法了。

既然是靠著恩典，就不再是由於行為了；不然的話，恩典就不再是恩典了。

這樣看來，如果藉著利未人的祭司制度能達到完全的地步（人民是在這制度下領受律法的），為甚麼還需要照著麥基洗德的體系，另外興起一位祭司，而不照著亞倫的體系呢？

既然知道人稱義不是靠行律法，而是因信耶穌基督，我們也就信了基督耶穌，使我們因信基督稱義，不是靠行律法；因為沒有人能靠行律法稱義。

如果基督沒有復活，我們所傳的就是枉然，你們的信也是枉然，

我保羅現在告訴你們，如果你們受割禮，基督對你們就毫無益處了。我再對所有受割禮的人鄭重聲明：他有責任遵行全部的律法。你們這些靠律法稱義的人，是和基督隔絕，從恩典中墜落了。

但我說：“我勞碌是徒然的；我用盡氣力，是虛無虛空的；然而我當得的公理是在耶和華那裡，我的賞賜是在我的神那裡。”

你們若持守我所傳給你們的道，就必靠這福音得救，不然就是徒然相信了。

他們既然不明白神的義，而又企圖建立自己的義，就不服神的義了。

我若重建我所拆毀的，就證明自己是個有過犯的人。

既是這樣，我們對這一切還有甚麼話說呢？神若這樣為我們，誰能敵對我們呢？

耶穌又對他們說：“你們為了堅守自己的傳統，而巧妙地把神的誡命拒絕了。

基督若沒有復活，你們的信就是徒然，你們仍在你們的罪裡。

耶和華破壞列國的謀略，使萬民的計劃挫敗。

你們怎可以說：“我們是智慧人，我們有耶和華的律法”呢？事實上，經學家虛假的筆已把律法變成謊言了。
