For before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group.

可是當彼得上到耶路撒冷的時候，那些割禮派的人卻批評他，說：「你竟然進到沒有受割禮之人的家裡，又與他們一起吃飯。」

公認是柱石的雅各、磯法和約翰，既然明白了神所賜給我的恩典，就向巴拿巴和我伸出右手行契合之禮，要我們往外邦人那裡去，而他們往受割禮的人那裡去；

這奧祕就是：外邦人在基督耶穌裡，藉著福音，成為共同的繼承人，同屬一體、同蒙應許。

彼得坐在外面的院子裡，有一個女僕過來對他說：「你也與那個加利利人耶穌是一夥的。」彼得卻在眾人面前否認說：「我不知道你在說什麼。」他出去到門口，另有一個女僕看見他，對那裡的人說：「這個人與拿撒勒人耶穌是一夥的。」彼得又起誓否認說：「我不認識那個人！」過了一會兒，旁邊站著的人過來對彼得說：「你真的也是與他們一夥的，因為連你的口音也把你暴露了。」彼得就開始賭咒並起誓說：「我不認識那個人！」立時，雞就叫了。彼得想起耶穌說過的話：「雞叫以前，你會三次不認我」，就到外面去，痛哭起來。

由此可見，你們不再是外人，或寄居的；你們是聖徒的同國之民，是神家裡的人，並且被建造在使徒和先知的根基上，有基督耶穌自己為房角石。在基督耶穌裡，全部建築互相連接，漸漸成為在主裡的聖殿；在他裡面，你們也一同被建造，藉著聖靈成為神居住的地方。

對人的懼怕，會成為陷阱；依靠耶和華的，安穩在高處。

連一切惡的樣式都要遠避。

廢除了諭令中誡命的律法，為了把兩者在他自己裡面造成一個新人，締造和平。

第二天，保羅與我們一起去探望雅各，所有的長老也都來了。保羅問候他們後，一一述說神藉著他的服事，在外邦人中所做的事。他們聽了就不住地榮耀神，又對保羅說：「弟兄，你看猶太人中信主的人有多少萬，而且他們都是對律法熱心的人。他們聽到有關你的事，說你教導所有在外邦人中的猶太人離道反教、背棄摩西，叫他們不要給孩子行割禮，也不要按規矩行事。他們一定會聽到你來這裡了。那麼該怎麼辦呢？你就照我們告訴你的去做吧。我們這裡有四個人，他們都許過願。你帶他們去，與他們一起行潔淨禮，並且替他們付錢，好讓他們剃掉頭髮。這樣，大家就會知道有關你的傳聞不是真的，而且你自己也是照著規矩行事、遵守律法的。至於已經相信的外邦人，我們照著決定寫了信，要他們遠避祭過偶像的食物，遠避血和勒死的動物，遠避淫亂。」

他們說：『你就站在那裡，不要接近我，因為我比你聖潔。』這些就是我鼻孔中的煙，是終日燃燒的火。

你究竟害怕誰、畏懼誰，以致說謊、不記念我，也不把我放在心上呢？難道我長久以來不是一直靜默嗎？難道你們因此就不敬畏我了嗎？
