They have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons, and have mingled the holy race with the peoples around them. And the leaders and officials have led the way in this unfaithfulness.”

The men of Israel have married the daughters of some of those people. They’ve also taken some of those women for their sons to marry. So they’ve mixed our holy nation with the nations around us. We leaders and officials have also married women who don’t worship the Lord. By doing this, we have led the way in breaking our covenant with the Lord.”

For they have taken some of their daughters to be wives for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy race has mixed itself with the peoples of the lands. And in this faithlessness the hand of the officials and chief men has been foremost.”

For the men of Israel have married women from these people and have taken them as wives for their sons. So the holy race has become polluted by these mixed marriages. Worse yet, the leaders and officials have led the way in this outrage.”

“耶和華你的神領你進入你要去得為業的地，從你面前趕走許多民族，就是赫人、革迦撒人、亞摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人，共七個比你又大又強的民族。耶和華你的神把他們交給你，你打敗了他們的時候，你要完全毀滅他們，不可與他們立約，也不可恩待他們。不可與他們通婚，不可把你的女兒嫁給他們的兒子，也不可為你的兒子娶他們的女兒。因為他必使你的兒子離開我，去事奉別的神，以致耶和華向你們發烈怒，就快快地把你們消滅。

你們要歸我作聖潔的人；因此田間被野獸撕碎的肉，你們不可以吃，要把它丟給狗吃。”

“因為你是歸耶和華你的神作聖潔的子民的；耶和華你的神從地上的萬族中，揀選了你作他自己的產業，自己的子民。

猶大人行了詭詐，在以色列和耶路撒冷中作了可憎的事；因為猶大人褻瀆耶和華所愛的聖所，娶了事奉外族神的女子為妻。

屬以攔的子孫、耶歇的兒子示迦尼對以斯拉說：“我們對神不忠，娶了這地這外族女子為妻。雖然這樣，以色列現在還有希望。

神所作的不是一個嗎？其餘的氣息都是屬於他的。那一個尋求甚麼呢？就是神的子孫。（本節原文意思不確定）所以要謹守你們的靈性，不可對年輕時所娶的妻子不忠。

眾民聽見了這律法，就跟一切閒雜人分離。這事以前，受委派管理我們神殿的庫房的以利亞實祭司，與多比雅的關係很密切。

境內剩下的人，雖然只有十分之一，也必被消滅。但正如栗樹和橡樹，雖然被砍下，樹的餘幹還存留在那裡。這聖潔的苗裔，就是這國的餘幹。”

因為不信的丈夫因著妻子成為聖潔，不信的妻子也因著那個弟兄成為聖潔了。不然，你們的兒女就是不潔淨的，但現在他們都是聖潔的了。

於是我責備猶大的貴族，對他們說：“你們怎麼行這惡事，褻瀆安息日呢？

神的眾子看見人的女子美麗，就隨意挑選，娶作妻子。

大祭司以利亞實的孫子耶何耶大的一個兒子，是和倫人參巴拉的女婿，我就驅逐他離開我。
