On the twelfth day of the first month we set out from the Ahava Canal to go to Jerusalem. The hand of our God was on us, and he protected us from enemies and bandits along the way.

On the 12th day of the first month we started out. We left the canal that flows toward Ahava. And we headed for Jerusalem. Our God helped us. He kept us safe from enemies and robbers along the way.

Then we departed from the river Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go to Jerusalem. The hand of our God was on us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy and from ambushes by the way.

We broke camp at the Ahava Canal on April 19 and started off to Jerusalem. And the gracious hand of our God protected us and saved us from enemies and bandits along the way.

We set out from the Ahava River on the twelfth day of the first month to go to Jerusalem. We were strengthened by our God, and he kept us from the grasp of the enemy and from ambush along the way.

Then we journeyed from the river Ahava on the twelfth of the first month to go to Jerusalem; and the hand of our God was upon us, and He rescued us from the hand of the enemy and the ambushes by the road.

Then we departed from the river of Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go to Jerusalem. And the hand of our God was upon us, and He delivered us from the hand of the enemy and from ambush along the road.

“那时，我在亚哈瓦河边那里宣告禁食，为要在我们的神面前谦卑下来，为自己和我们的孩子，以及我们所有的财物寻求神指示一条畅通的道路。我羞于请求王派遣步兵和马兵帮助我们抵御路上的仇敌，因为我们曾告诉王说：‘我们神的手必帮助所有寻求他的人，赐福给他们，但他的能力和忿怒必攻击所有离弃他的人。’

正月初一，以斯拉开始从巴比伦上来；五月初一来到耶路撒冷，他神施恩的手帮助他，

“我召集他们到那条流往亚哈瓦的河边；我们在那里安营住了三天。当我视察民众和祭司的时候，发现没有利未人在那里。

不要惧怕，因为我与你同在；不要四处张望，因为我是你的神，我必坚固你，我必帮助你；我必用公义的右手扶持你。看哪！向你发怒的都必蒙羞受辱；与你相争的人，都要如同无有，并要灭亡。与你争竞的人，你要寻找他们，却找不着；与你交战的人，都必如同无有，好像虚无。因为我，耶和华你们的神，紧握着你的右手，对你说：“不要惧怕，我必帮助你。”虫子雅各啊！以色列人哪！你不要惧怕。我必帮助你；这是耶和华说的。你的救赎主，就是以色列的圣者。

然而，我得到神的帮助，直到今日还是站得稳，向尊卑老幼作见证，我所讲的都是众先知和摩西所论的将来必成的事，

你六次遭遇患难，他都救拔你，就算第七次，灾祸也伤不了你。在饥荒中，他必救你脱离死亡；在战争中，他必救你脱离刀剑的权势。你必不受人口舌之害，灾殃临到，也不害怕。对灾殃和饥馑，一笑置之，地上的野兽你也不害怕。你必与田间的石头立约，田间的野兽必与你和平相处。你必晓得你的帐棚平安无事；你查看庄舍，也一无缺失。

你既然把耶和华当作自己的避难所，把至高者当作自己的居所，祸患必不临到你，灾害必不临近你的帐棚。因为他为了你，会吩咐自己的使者，在你所行的一切路上保护你。他们必用手托住你，免得你的脚碰到石头。你必践踏狮子和虺蛇。你必踏碎少壮狮子和大蛇。耶和华说：“因为他恋慕我，我必搭救他；因为他认识我的名，我必保护他。

求他恩准对付保罗，把保罗解来耶路撒冷，他们好埋伏在路上杀死他。

又使我在王和谋士，以及王手下有权势的领袖面前蒙恩。因为耶和华我神的手帮助我，我就有勇气，召集以色列中一些首领，与我一同上来。”
