I did this because I was ashamed to ask the king for infantry and cavalry to protect us from enemies during the journey, since we had told him,“ The hand of our God is gracious to all who seek him, but his fierce anger is against all who abandon him.”

我求王拨步兵马兵帮助我们抵挡路上的仇敌，本以为羞耻；因我曾对王说：“我们神施恩的手必帮助一切寻求他的；但他的能力和忿怒必攻击一切离弃他的。”

我羞于请求王派遣步兵和马兵帮助我们抵御路上的仇敌，因为我们曾告诉王说：‘我们神的手必帮助所有寻求他的人，赐福给他们，但他的能力和忿怒必攻击所有离弃他的人。’

我求王撥步兵馬兵幫助我們抵擋路上的仇敵，本以為羞恥；因我曾對王說：「我們神施恩的手必幫助一切尋求他的；但他的能力和忿怒必攻擊一切離棄他的。」

昔我告王曰、凡尋求我上帝者、必蒙其祐、棄之者必犯其權、干其怒、今求王遣步卒騎兵、助我禦敵於路、我以為恥、

I was ashamed to ask the king for soldiers and horsemen to protect us from enemies on the road, because we had told the king,“ The gracious hand of our God is on everyone who looks to him, but his great anger is against all who forsake him.”

I was ashamed to ask King Artaxerxes for soldiers and horsemen. They could have kept us safe from enemies on the road. But we had told the king that our God would keep us safe. We had said,“ Our God is gracious and helps everyone who looks to him. But he becomes very angry with anyone who deserts him.”

For I was ashamed to ask the king for a band of soldiers and horsemen to protect us against the enemy on our way, since we had told the king,“ The hand of our God is for good on all who seek him, and the power of his wrath is against all who forsake him.”

For I was ashamed to ask the king for soldiers and horsemen to accompany us and protect us from enemies along the way. After all, we had told the king,“ Our God’s hand of protection is on all who worship him, but his fierce anger rages against those who abandon him.”

For I was ashamed to request from the king troops and horsemen to protect us from the enemy on the way, because we had said to the king,“ The hand of our God is favorably disposed to all who seek Him, but His power and His anger are against all those who abandon Him.”

For I was ashamed to request of the king an escort of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the road, because we had spoken to the king, saying,“ The hand of our God is upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath are against all those who forsake Him.”

For I was ashamed to ask of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way, because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them that seek him, for good; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.

For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God[ is] upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath[ is] against all them that forsake him.

I was embarrassed to request soldiers and horsemen from the king to protect us from the enemy along the way, because we had said to the king,“ The good hand of our God is on everyone who is seeking him, but his great anger is against everyone who forsakes him.”

For I was ashamed to ask of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the way, because we had spoken to the king, saying,“ The hand of our God is on all those who seek him, for good; but his power and his wrath is against all those who forsake him.”

because the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do what is evil.

So he went out to meet Asa and said to him,“ Asa and all Judah and Benjamin, hear me. The LORD is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you abandon him, he will abandon you.

— came up from Babylon. He was a scribe skilled in the law of Moses, which the LORD, the God of Israel, had given. The king had granted him everything he requested because the hand of the LORD his God was on him.

“ As for you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve him wholeheartedly and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands the intention of every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you abandon him, he will reject you forever.

The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry for help.The face of the LORD is set against those who do what is evil, to remove all memory of them from the earth.

For the eyes of the LORD roam throughout the earth to show himself strong for those who are wholeheartedly devoted to him. You have been foolish in this matter. Therefore, you will have wars from now on.”

The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the person who seeks him.

But look, the LORD keeps his eye on those who fear him— those who depend on his faithful loveto rescue them from death and to keep them alive in famine.

But my righteous one will live by faith; and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him.

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.

and who has shown favor to me before the king, his counselors, and all his powerful officers. So I took courage because I was strengthened by the hand of the LORD my God, and I gathered Israelite leaders to return with me.

The LORD redeems the life of his servants, and all who take refuge in him will not be punished.

He began the journey from Babylon on the first day of the first month and arrived in Jerusalem on the first day of the fifth month since the gracious hand of his God was on him.

If you break the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods, and bow in worship to them, the LORD’s anger will burn against you, and you will quickly disappear from this good land he has given you.”

I will completely sweep away everything from the face of the earth— this is the LORD’s declaration.I will sweep away people and animals; I will sweep away the birds of the sky and the fish of the sea, and the ruins along with the wicked. I will cut off mankind from the face of the earth. This is the LORD’s declaration.I will stretch out my hand against Judah and against all the residents of Jerusalem. For if I have made any boast to him about you, I have not been disappointed; but as I have spoken everything to you in truth, so our boasting to Titus has also turned out to be the truth.

Your hand will capture all your enemies; your right hand will seize those who hate you.You will make them burn like a fiery furnace when you appear; the LORD will engulf them in his wrath, and fire will devour them.

Tell the righteous that it will go well for them, for they will eat the fruit of their labor.Woe to the wicked— it will go badly for them, for what they have done will be done to them.

For my part I have used none of these rights, nor have I written these things that they may be applied in my case. For it would be better for me to die than for anyone to deprive me of my boast!
