你们要靠主常常喜乐！我再说，你们要喜乐！

你们和家人要在那里，在你们的上帝耶和华面前吃喝；要为你们所做的一切蒙祂赐福而欢喜快乐。

第八天举行庄严的聚会，又举行七天献坛礼。之后，他们又欢庆七天。七月二十三日，所罗门王让民众各回本乡。他们看见耶和华向大卫、所罗门和祂的以色列子民所施的恩惠，就满心欢喜地回家去了。

首先从巴比伦回到自己城邑的地业居住的有祭司、利未人、殿役和其他以色列人。

尼希米又说：“你们去吃肥美的肉，喝甘甜的酒，并分些给一无所有的人，因为今天是我们主的圣日。不要悲伤，因为从耶和华而来的喜乐就是你们的力量。”

全耶路撒冷都喜气洋洋，因为自以色列王大卫的儿子所罗门时代以来，耶路撒冷从未有过这样的盛会。

于是，祭司、利未人、殿门守卫、歌乐手、一些民众、殿役和全体以色列人都住在自己的城里。到了七月，以色列人都住在各自的城里。
