臣等問其長老曰、誰命爾建斯殿、築此垣乎、

凡爾曹屬主之民者、願其天主祐之、可上猶大之耶路撒冷、為主以色列之天主、即居耶路撒冷之天主、建造殿宇、

我亞達薛西王降諭、命爾河西諸庫官、凡祭司以斯拉、洞明天上天主律法之文士、向爾所索、當速給之勿緩、

耶穌入聖殿、教誨時、祭司諸長及民之長老、就之曰、爾以何權行此諸事、賜爾此權者誰乎、

河西之方伯達乃、示他波斯乃、與其同僚居河西之亞法薩迦人、上表奏大利烏王、其畧如左、

令使徒立於眾中、詰曰、爾以何權何名行此乎、

我又奏王曰、王若樂允、求王賜我詔書、命河西方伯、途間資助我至猶大、亦求降詔於司王山林之臣亞薩、命之賜我材木、用以作圍殿城之門之柝梁、建城垣、與我所欲居之室、我蒙我天主之祐、王允我所求、王使軍長率馬卒護我、我至河西見諸方伯、以王之詔書授之、
