Despite their fear of the peoples around them, they built the altar on its foundation and sacrificed burnt offerings on it to the Lord, both the morning and evening sacrifices.

The people who built the altar were afraid of the nations around them. But they built it anyway. They set it up where it had stood before. They sacrificed burnt offerings on it to the Lord. They offered the morning and evening sacrifices on it.

They set the altar in its place, for fear was on them because of the peoples of the lands, and they offered burnt offerings on it to the Lord, burnt offerings morning and evening.

Even though the people were afraid of the local residents, they rebuilt the altar at its old site. Then they began to sacrifice burnt offerings on the altar to the Lord each morning and evening.

Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, My oblation, my food for my offerings made by fire, of a sweet savor unto me, shall ye observe to offer unto me in their due season.And thou shalt say unto them, This is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer unto Jehovah: he- lambs a year old without blemish, two day by day, for a continual burnt- offering.The one lamb shalt thou offer in the morning, and the other lamb shalt thou offer at even;and the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a meal- offering, mingled with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil.It is a continual burnt- offering, which was ordained in mount Sinai for a sweet savor, an offering made by fire unto Jehovah.And the drink- offering thereof shall be the fourth part of a hin for the one lamb: in the holy place shalt thou pour out a drink- offering of strong drink unto Jehovah.And the other lamb shalt thou offer at even: as the meal- offering of the morning, and as the drink- offering thereof, thou shalt offer it, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah.

Mine enemies would swallow me up all the day long; For they are many that fight proudly against me.What time I am afraid, I will put my trust in thee.In God( I will praise his word), In God have I put my trust, I will not be afraid; What can flesh do unto me?

Jehovah is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?When evil- doers came upon me to eat up my flesh, Even mine adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.

Moreover he made an altar of brass, twenty cubits the length thereof, and twenty cubits the breadth thereof, and ten cubits the height thereof.

Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek of him a straight way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.For I was ashamed to ask of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way, because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them that seek him, for good; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.

Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar: two lambs a year old day by day continually.The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer at even:and with the one lamb a tenth part of an ephah of fine flour mingled with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil, and the fourth part of a hin of wine for a drink- offering.And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do thereto according to the meal- offering of the morning, and according to the drink- offering thereof, for a sweet savor, an offering made by fire unto Jehovah.It shall be a continual burnt- offering throughout your generations at the door of the tent of meeting before Jehovah, where I will meet with you, to speak there unto thee.
