他若是不聽他們，就去告訴教會；若是不聽教會，就把他看作外邦人和稅吏。

他父母說這些話，是怕猶太人，因為猶太人已經商定，若有宣認耶穌是基督的，要把他趕出會堂。

至於外人有上帝審判他們。如經上說：「要從你們中間把那邪惡的人趕出去。」

他們回答他說：「你完全是生在罪中的，還要來教訓我們嗎？」於是他們把他趕出去了。

人要把你們趕出會堂，而且時候將到，凡殺你們的還以為是在事奉上帝。

以色列人說：「以色列各支派中，誰沒有同會眾一起上到耶和華那裏呢？」因為以色列人曾起重誓說：「凡不上米斯巴到耶和華那裏的，必被處死。」

以色列人聽見這律法，就與所有不同族羣的人分別出來。

「但一切永獻作當滅的，就是人從他所有永獻給耶和華作當滅的，無論是人，是牲畜，是他繼承的田地，都不可賣，也不可贖。凡永獻作當滅的都歸耶和華為至聖。

只有金子、銀子和銅鐵的器皿都要歸耶和華為聖，放入耶和華的庫房中。」

他把一對牛切成小塊，吩咐使者傳送到以色列全境，說：「凡不出來跟隨掃羅和撒母耳的，就必這樣待他的牛。」耶和華使百姓懼怕，他們就都出來如同一人。

凡不遵行你上帝律法和王命令的人，當速速定他的罪，或處死，或充軍，或抄家，或囚禁。」
