你們不可追隨世界的潮流，要隨著思想的不斷更新而改變，這樣就能明辨上帝的旨意，知道什麼是良善、純全、蒙祂悅納的。

不可與他們通婚，不可讓你們的兒女與他們的兒女通婚，因為他們會讓你們的兒女離棄耶和華去拜其他神明，以致耶和華向你們發怒，迅速毀滅你們。

約書亞對亞干說：「孩子啊，我勸你把榮耀歸給以色列的上帝耶和華，向祂認罪，把你所做的事告訴我，不要隱瞞。」

現在，我們來與我們的上帝立約，聽從你和那些敬畏我們上帝誡命之人的指示，遵照律法而行，送走這些妻子和她們的兒女。

自掩其罪，必不亨通；痛改前非，必蒙憐憫。

又說：「所以，你們要從他們中間出來，離開他們，不要沾染污穢之物，我就接納你們。

我向你承認自己的罪，不再隱瞞自己的惡。我說：「我要向耶和華認罪。」你就赦免了我。（細拉）

如果我們生活在光明之中，像上帝在光明中一樣，就能夠彼此相交，上帝兒子耶穌的血能洗淨我們一切的罪。如果我們說自己沒有罪，便是自欺，真理就不在我們心中。如果我們承認自己的罪，上帝是信實公義的，必赦免我們的罪，洗淨我們一切的不義。

你們要洗淨自己，停止作惡，不要讓我再看見你們的惡行。你們要學習行善，追求正義，幫助受欺壓的，替孤兒辯護，為寡婦伸冤。」耶和華說：「來吧，我們彼此理論！你們的罪雖如猩紅，也必潔白如雪；你們的罪雖如緋紅，也必白如羊毛。

『你必須要承認自己的罪，承認背叛了你的上帝耶和華，在綠蔭樹下祭拜各種外邦的神明，不聽從我的話。』這是耶和華說的。

我們接受的不是這世界的靈，而是上帝的聖靈，使我們可以領會上帝開恩啟示給我們的事。我們講述這些事，不是用人類智慧所教的話，而是用聖靈所教的話，用屬靈的話解釋屬靈的事。然而，屬血氣的人不接受從上帝來的聖靈的教導，認為愚不可及，無法明白，因為只有屬靈的人才能參透。

在各樣善事上成全你們，好使你們遵行祂的旨意，並藉著主耶穌在你們心中動工，使你們做祂喜悅的事！願榮耀歸給上帝，直到永永遠遠。阿們！

這些事以後，眾首領來告訴我說：「以色列民眾、祭司和利未人還沒有與當地各族分開，他們仍隨從迦南人、赫人、比利洗人、耶布斯人、亞捫人、摩押人、埃及人和亞摩利人的可憎行為。

因為耶和華說：「如果太監遵守我的安息日、做我喜悅的事、持守我的約，

「如果他們承認自己和祖先的罪，就是背叛我、與我作對的惡行——以致我與他們作對，把他們流放到敵國；如果他們頑固的心謙卑下來，甘願接受刑罰，我便履行我與亞伯拉罕、以撒和雅各所立的約，眷顧那片土地。

以便你們行事為人對得起主，凡事蒙祂喜悅，在一切良善的事上結出果實，對上帝的認識不斷增加。

以色列人聽到律法書上的話，便逐出所有外族人。
