王公哀慘、牧伯驚駭、庶民喪膽、我視其所行、降以重罰、使知我乃耶和華。

王者哀慘、牧伯驚駭、國民手俱戰慄、手俱戰慄或作已皆喪膽我必視其行為以待之、循其惡習以鞫之、彼則知我乃主、

Then all the princes of the sea will come down from their thrones, lay aside their robes, and take off their embroidered garments; they will clothe themselves with trembling; they will sit on the ground, tremble every moment, and be astonished at you.

For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.

But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,who“ will render to each one according to his deeds”:eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality;but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness— indignation and wrath,tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek;but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

“ Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways,” says the Lord GOD.“ Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin.

Then a man of God came and spoke to the king of Israel, and said,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ Because the Syrians have said,“ The Lord is God of the hills, but He is not God of the valleys,” therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the Lord.’”

‘ Now to you, O profane, wicked prince of Israel, whose day has come, whose iniquity shall end,

But the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king, and they overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho. All his army was scattered from him.So they took the king and brought him up to the king of Babylon at Riblah in the land of Hamath, and he pronounced judgment on him.Then the king of Babylon killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes. And he killed all the princes of Judah in Riblah.He also put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in bronze fetters, took him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.

“ So you shall know that I am the Lord your God, Dwelling in Zion My holy mountain. Then Jerusalem shall be holy, And no aliens shall ever pass through her again.”

But he rebelled against him by sending his ambassadors to Egypt, that they might give him horses and many people. Will he prosper? Will he who does such things escape? Can he break a covenant and still be delivered?‘ As I live,’ says the Lord God,‘ surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised and whose covenant he broke— with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.Nor will Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company do anything in the war, when they heap up a siege mound and build a wall to cut off many persons.Since he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, and in fact gave his hand and still did all these things, he shall not escape.’”Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:“ As I live, surely My oath which he despised, and My covenant which he broke, I will recompense on his own head.I will spread My net over him, and he shall be taken in My snare. I will bring him to Babylon and try him there for the treason which he committed against Me.All his fugitives with all his troops shall fall by the sword, and those who remain shall be scattered to every wind; and you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken.”

For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord God:“ This burden concerns the prince in Jerusalem and all the house of Israel who are among them.”’Say,‘ I am a sign to you. As I have done, so shall it be done to them; they shall be carried away into captivity.’And the prince who is among them shall bear his belongings on his shoulder at twilight and go out. They shall dig through the wall to carry them out through it. He shall cover his face, so that he cannot see the ground with his eyes.I will also spread My net over him, and he shall be caught in My snare. I will bring him to Babylon, to the land of the Chaldeans; yet he shall not see it, though he shall die there.I will scatter to every wind all who are around him to help him, and all his troops; and I will draw out the sword after them.“ Then they shall know that I am the Lord, when I scatter them among the nations and disperse them throughout the countries.But I will spare a few of their men from the sword, from famine, and from pestilence, that they may declare all their abominations among the Gentiles wherever they go. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.”Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying,“ Son of man, eat your bread with quaking, and drink your water with trembling and anxiety.And say to the people of the land,‘ Thus says the Lord GOD to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the land of Israel:“ They shall eat their bread with anxiety, and drink their water with dread, so that her land may be emptied of all who are in it, because of the violence of all those who dwell in it.Then the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall become desolate; and you shall know that I am the Lord.”’”And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,“ Son of man, what is this proverb that you people have about the land of Israel, which says,‘ The days are prolonged, and every vision fails’?

Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, For the reward of his hands shall be given him.
