“ I will make you a ruin and a reproach among the nations around you, in the sight of all who pass by.

“ I will destroy you. I will bring shame on you in the sight of the nations around you. All those who pass by will see it.

Moreover, I will make you a desolation and an object of reproach among the nations all around you and in the sight of all who pass by.

“ So I will turn you into a ruin, a mockery in the eyes of the surrounding nations and to all who pass by.

“ I will make you a ruin and a disgrace among the nations around you, in the sight of everyone who passes by.

Moreover, I will make you a site of ruins and a disgrace among the nations that surround you, in the sight of everyone who passes by.

Moreover I will make you a waste and a reproach among the nations that are all around you, in the sight of all who pass by.

求你舉步到那長久荒涼之地——在聖所中，仇敵已經做了一切惡事。你的敵人在你的會所中吼叫，設立了自己的標幟為記號；他們像是在樹林中揮斧頭的人；而現在，他們用斧子和錘子，把聖所的雕刻全都擊碎了。他們放火把你的聖所燒成平地，褻瀆了你名的住所。他們心裡說：「我們要徹底制伏這些人！」他們在地上焚燒了神一切的會所。我們看不到自己的標幟，也不再有先知；在我們中間，沒有人知道這要到什麼時候。神哪，敵人的辱罵要到什麼時候呢？仇敵要永久藐視你的名嗎？

神哪，列國進入了你的繼業，玷汙了你聖潔的殿，使耶路撒冷變為荒堆！他們把你僕人的屍體給了天空的飛鳥為食物，把你忠信者的肉體給了地上的野獸。他們使耶路撒冷四圍血流成河，屍體無人埋葬。我們成了鄰居辱罵的對象，成了周圍人嘲笑和諷刺的對象。

你的聖城變成了曠野，錫安變成了曠野，耶路撒冷變成了荒涼之地。我們聖潔、榮美的殿，就是我們祖先讚美你的地方，已經被火燒毀了，我們所珍愛的一切都成了廢墟。
