“‘ A priest must not defile himself by going near a dead person; however, if the dead person was his father or mother, son or daughter, brother or unmarried sister, then he may defile himself.

“ A priest must not make himself‘ unclean’ by going near a dead person. But suppose the dead person was his father or mother. Or suppose it was his son or daughter or brother or unmarried sister. Then the priest may make himself‘ unclean.’

They shall not defile themselves by going near to a dead person. However, for father or mother, for son or daughter, for brother or unmarried sister they may defile themselves.

“ A priest must not defile himself by being in the presence of a dead person unless it is his father, mother, child, brother, or unmarried sister. In such cases it is permitted.

A priest may not come near a dead person so that he becomes defiled. However, he may defile himself for a father, a mother, a son, a daughter, a brother, or an unmarried sister.

They shall not go to a dead person to defile themselves; however, for father, for mother, for son, for daughter, for brother, or for a sister who has not had a husband, they may defile themselves.

“ They shall not defile themselves by coming near a dead person. Only for father or mother, for son or daughter, for brother or unmarried sister may they defile themselves.

And they shall go in to no dead person to defile themselves; but for father, or for mother, or for son, or for daughter, for brother, or for sister that hath had no husband, they may defile themselves.

亞倫的後裔中，凡生痲瘋屬之病的、或是有漏症的、總要等到得潔淨了、才可以喫聖物。無論誰觸着那因死人而不潔的任何東西，或是任何出精的人，

永恆主對摩西說：『你要告訴亞倫子孫做祭司的說：人不可為了死人而在他族人中讓自己蒙不潔；除非為了骨肉的至親；母親、父親、兒女、弟兄、或是作處女的姐妹、未曾嫁人的至親，他才可以為了她而蒙不潔。但姐妹若嫁了人，他就不可為了她而蒙不潔。他們總不可使頭上光禿，不可把鬍鬚的兩邊剃掉，不可將刻紋刻在肉身上。他們要成為聖歸於他們的上帝，不可褻瀆他們的上帝的名，因為給永恆主的火祭、他們的上帝的食物、是他們獻的，所以他們要成聖別。

弟兄們，關於長眠着的人、我們不願意你們不明白，只願意你們不憂愁、不像那些沒有指望的會外人一樣。我們既信耶穌死了又復起了，那麼照樣地那些長眠着的人、上帝也必藉着耶穌而帶領他們、和耶穌一同來。我們本着主的話告訴你們一件事：我們這些蒙存留到主御臨時還活着的人、斷不能在那些長眠着的人之先；

他又對另一個人說：『你跟從我！』那人說：『准我先去埋葬我的父親吧。』耶穌對他說：『任憑那些死人去埋葬他們的死人；你、卻要去，遍傳上帝的國。』

門徒中另有一個人對耶穌說：『主啊，准我先去埋葬我的父親。』耶穌對他說：『你跟從我；任憑那些死人去埋葬他們的死人！』
