所以要治死你们在地上的肢体，就如淫乱、污秽、邪情、恶欲和贪心，贪心就是拜偶像。因着这些事，神的忿怒必要临到悖逆的人（有些抄本无“悖逆的人”）。你们从前在其中生活的时候，也曾经这样行过。但现在你们要除去忿怒、恼怒、恶毒、毁谤，以及粗言秽语这一切事。不要彼此说谎，因为你们已经脱去了旧人和旧人的行为，

他们必不再因自己的偶像和可憎的像，以及一切过犯，而玷污自己；我必拯救他们脱离一切背道的罪（“背道的罪”有古卷作“他们在其中犯罪的住处”）；我必洁净他们，他们就必作我的子民，我必作他们的神。
