And the nations will know that the people of Israel went into exile for their sin, because they were unfaithful to me. So I hid my face from them and handed them over to their enemies, and they all fell by the sword.

The nations will know that the people of Israel were taken away as prisoners because they sinned against me. They were not faithful to me. So I turned my face away from them. I handed them over to their enemies. All of them were killed by swords.

And the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they dealt so treacherously with me that I hid my face from them and gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they all fell by the sword.

The nations will then know why Israel was sent away to exile— it was punishment for sin, for they were unfaithful to their God. Therefore, I turned away from them and let their enemies destroy them.

而是你们的罪孽使你们与你们的神隔绝；你们的罪恶使他掩面不顾你们，不听你们的祷告。

所以你们张开双手的时候，我必掩眼不看你们；即使你们多多祷告，我也不听；你们的手都沾满血腥。

多国的人必经过这城，彼此发问：‘耶和华为什么这样对待这大城呢？’必有人说：‘是因为他们离弃了耶和华他们神的约，并且敬拜事奉别神。’”

使刀剑临到你们，报复背约的仇；聚集你们到城里，好使我打发瘟疫在你们中间，把你们交在仇敌的手里。

我也不再掩面不顾他们，因为我已经把我的灵浇灌在以色列家。这是主耶和华的宣告。”

说：‘我必掩面不顾他们，要看看他们的结局怎样；因为他们是乖曲的一代，心里没有信实的人。

如果不是他们的磐石把他们出卖了，如果不是耶和华把他们交出来，一人怎能追赶一千人，二人怎能使万人逃跑呢？

耶和华啊！你为什么远远地站着？在患难的时候，你为什么隐藏起来呢？

耶和华的怒气向以色列人发作，就把他们交在抢掠的人手中，他们就抢掠他们；他又把他们完全交在他们四围的仇敌手中，以致他们在仇敌面前再不能站立得住。

耶路撒冷犯了大罪，因此成了不洁之物。素来尊敬她的现在都藐视她，因为看见她赤身露体；她自己也唉哼，转身退避。

‘这城的居民出去和迦勒底人争战，就必使这些房屋充满死尸，就是我在怒气和烈怒中击杀的。因为他们的一切恶行，我掩面不顾这城。

到了那日，我必向他们大发烈怒，离弃他们，掩面不顾他们，他们就必被吞灭，并且遭遇很多灾祸和患难。到了那日，他们必说：‘我们遭遇这些灾祸，不是因为我们的神不在我们中间吗？’到了那日，因为他们偏向了别的神，和所作的一切恶事，我必掩面不顾他们。

耶和华啊！你的恩宠，使我坚立，如同大山；你一掩面，我就惊惶。

把他们交在外族人的手里，恨恶他们的人就管辖他们。

护卫长把耶利米提出来，对他说：“耶和华你的神曾说要降这灾祸在这地方；现在耶和华使灾祸临到，照他所说的行了；因为你们得罪了耶和华，没有听从他的话，所以这事才临到你们。

所有过路的人，都拍掌嘲笑你；他们嗤笑耶路撒冷的居民，并摇头说：“被人称为最完美，为全地所喜悦的，就是这城吗？”你所有的仇敌都张开口攻击你，他们嗤笑你，又咬牙切齿，说：“我们吞灭它了！这真是我们期待的日子！我们等到了！亲眼看见了！”耶和华作成了他定意去作的，成就了他的话，就是他昔日所宣告的，他把你拆毁，并不怜惜，他使仇敌因胜过你而高兴，他高举你敌人的角。

这殿虽然高大，但将来经过的人，都必惊讶，说：‘耶和华为什么这样对待这地和这殿呢？’人必回答说：‘是因为这地的人离弃了耶和华他们列祖的神，就是领他们从埃及地出来的神，去亲近别的神，敬拜和事奉他们；所以，耶和华使这一切灾祸临到他们。’”

没有人呼求你的名，没有人奋起抓着你；因为你掩面不顾我们，使我们在自己罪孽的权势下融化。

我要等候那掩面不顾雅各家的耶和华，我要仰视他。

谁把雅各交出来给掠夺者？谁把以色列交给抢劫的呢？岂不是耶和华，就是我们得罪的那位吗？因为他们不肯遵行他的道，也不肯听从他的律法。

所以我因他们在那地上流人的血，又因他们以自己可憎的像玷污那地，就把我的烈怒倒在他们身上。我使他们分散在列邦，四散在各地；我按着他们的所作所为审判他们。他们到了所去的列邦那里，我的圣名就被亵渎，因为人总是谈论他们说：‘这些是耶和华的子民，他们却要从耶和华的地出来。’我却顾惜我的圣名，就是以色列家在他们所去的列邦那里所亵渎的。“因此，你要对以色列家说：‘主耶和华这样说：以色列家啊！我作这事，不是为了你们，而是为了我自己的圣名，就是在你们所去的列邦那里所亵渎的，我要使我的大名显为圣，这名在列邦中已经被亵渎了，是你们在他们中间所亵渎的。我在你们身上向他们显为圣的时候，他们就知道我是耶和华。这是主耶和华的宣告。

因此，耶和华的怒气向以色列人发作，把他们完全交在两河之间的亚兰王古珊．利萨田的手中；以色列人服事了古珊．利萨田八年。

那时，在你们四围所余剩的列国，就必知道我是耶和华，是我重建了那些毁坏的地方，栽植了那些荒凉之地。我耶和华说了，就必实行。
