因此，以色列的众山啊！你们要听主耶和华的话；主耶和华对大山、小冈、溪涧、山谷、荒凉的废墟，被弃的城，就是曾被四围列国中余剩的人所劫掠、所讥笑的，这样说：

故此，以色列山要聽主耶和華的話。大山小岡、水溝山谷、荒廢之地、被棄之城，為四圍其餘的外邦人所佔據、所譏刺的，

因此，以色列羣山哪，要聽主耶和華的話。對那遭四圍其餘列國佔據、譏刺的大山小岡、水溝山谷、荒廢之地、被棄之城，主耶和華如此說；

故此以色列眾山哪，你們要聽主永恆主的話；主永恆主對山和岡陵、對溪河跟平谷、對淒涼荒廢之地、對被棄之城、被四圍其餘外國人所掠劫所嗤笑的、這麼說：

以色列山岡歟、宜聽主耶和華言、主耶和華告諸山岡澗谷、荒蕪之區、委棄之邑、為四周列國遺民所刦掠譏誚者、

故以色列山宜聽我言、主耶和華告諸山岡溪谷、其地素有邑郊、今變荒蕪、為他邦之人所奪、加以譏刺、

今以色列諸山歟、當聽主言、主天主告諸山岡、澗溪、澗溪或作窪地下同山谷、荒蕪之地、寂寞之邑、為四周未滅之異邦人、所強奪、所譏刺、

therefore, mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Sovereign Lord: This is what the Sovereign Lord says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys, to the desolate ruins and the deserted towns that have been plundered and ridiculed by the rest of the nations around you—

Mountains of Israel, listen to the message of the Lord and King. He speaks to you mountains, hills, canyons and valleys. He speaks to you destroyed cities and deserted towns. The rest of the nations around you took away from you everything of value. They made fun of you.

therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God: Thus says the Lord God to the mountains and the hills, the ravines and the valleys, the desolate wastes and the deserted cities, which have become a prey and derision to the rest of the nations all around,

Therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Sovereign Lord. He speaks to the hills and mountains, ravines and valleys, and to ruined wastes and long deserted cities that have been destroyed and mocked by the surrounding nations.

This is what the Lord God says to the mountains and to the hills, to the ravines and to the valleys, to the desolate ruins and to the abandoned cities which have become plunder and an object of ridicule to the rest of the nations which are all around—

therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD! Thus says the Lord GOD to the mountains, the hills, the rivers, the valleys, the desolate wastes, and the cities that have been forsaken, which became plunder and mockery to the rest of the nations all around—

therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Jehovah: Thus saith the Lord Jehovah to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which are become a prey and derision to the residue of the nations that are round about;

therefore, mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God. This is what the Lord God says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys, to the desolate ruins and abandoned cities, which have become plunder and a mockery to the rest of the nations all around.

therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the sovereign LORD: This is what the sovereign LORD says to the mountains and hills, the ravines and valleys, and to the desolate ruins and the abandoned cities that have become prey and an object of derision to the rest of the nations round about–

therefore, you mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Yahweh: The Lord Yahweh says to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which have become a prey and derision to the residue of the nations that are all around;

而你們將要佔領的那片土地卻有山有谷，雨水充足，

他們必不再成為列國的獵物，也不會被地上的野獸吞吃。他們必安居樂業，不再受人驚嚇。

我們成了列國羞辱的對象，周圍的人都嗤笑、譏諷我們。

「人子啊，你要向以色列的山嶺發預言說，『以色列的山嶺啊，你們要聽耶和華的話！

所以你要對以色列說預言，告訴以色列的山岡溪谷，耶和華這樣說，『因為你們曾遭受外族人的羞辱，我為你們滿懷義憤。

說，『以色列的山嶺啊，要聽主耶和華的話。祂對高山、丘陵、山澗、河谷說，我必親自讓刀劍臨到你們，我必毀滅你們的神廟，

看啊，耶和華必摧毀大地，使大地荒涼。祂毀壞地面，驅散萬民。那時，祭司和百姓，主人和僕人，主母和婢女，買的和賣的，貸的和借的，債主和債戶都必同遭厄運。大地必完全毀壞，一片荒涼。這是耶和華說的。大地必衰殘枯乾，世界必衰敗荒涼，世上的權貴也必敗落。大地被世人玷污，他們違犯律法，不守律例，背棄永遠的約。所以大地必遭受咒詛，世人必因罪而受懲罰。他們必被焚燒，所剩無幾。葡萄樹枯萎，新酒停產，歡樂的人都發出悲歎。歡快的鼓聲止息，悅耳的琴音消失，宴樂的喧鬧不復聽聞。再沒有人對酒高歌，濃酒變得苦澀。毀壞的城一片荒涼，家家戶戶大門緊閉，無人能進。人們因無酒而在街上喊叫；一切歡樂變作哀愁，地上喜樂不復存在。城裡一片荒涼，城門一片瓦礫。

我必伸手攻擊他們，使他們居住的地方，從曠野到第伯拉他，變得極其荒涼。這樣，他們便知道我是耶和華。」

耶和華使迦勒底人的王起兵攻打他們，在他們的聖殿裡用刀擊殺他們的壯丁，毫不憐憫少男少女、老人和年高者。耶和華把他們全部交在他的手中。上帝殿裡的大小器皿，以及耶和華殿裡、王宮裡和眾官員的所有珍寶，都被他帶到巴比倫去了。迦勒底人焚燒上帝的殿，拆毀耶路撒冷的城牆，並且焚燒所有的宮殿，毀壞其中所有珍貴的器皿。沒有被殺戮的人都被擄往巴比倫，做他和他子孫的奴隸，直到波斯帝國的時代。這就應驗了耶和華藉耶利米之口所說的話：這片土地享受了安息，它在荒涼中守安息，直到滿了七十年。

你的眾聖城已淪為荒場，甚至錫安已淪為荒場，耶路撒冷已淪為廢墟。我們那聖潔、華美的殿——我們祖先頌讚你的地方已被焚毀，我們珍愛的一切都被摧毀。

耶和華說：「你們被擄到巴比倫七十年期滿後，我就要眷顧你們，成就我充滿恩典的應許，把你們帶回這地方。

我要召集北方各族和我的僕人巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒，去攻擊這片土地和其中的居民以及周圍各國。我要徹底毀滅他們，使他們的下場很可怕、令人嗤笑、土地永遠荒涼。這是耶和華說的。我要使他們的歡樂聲、新郎新娘的歡笑聲、推磨聲和燈光都消失。整片土地要變得荒涼可怕，他們要臣服於巴比倫王七十年。七十年後，我要報應巴比倫王和他國民迦勒底人的罪，使他們的土地永遠荒涼。這是耶和華說的。我藉耶利米所說有關列國的預言都記在這書上了，我的話必應驗在他們的土地上。

我說：「主啊，這要到什麼時候呢？」祂說：「直到城邑荒涼，無人居住，房屋空置，土地荒廢的時候。

「主耶和華說，『在我洗淨你們一切罪惡的日子，我要使你們的城邑有人居住，廢墟得以重建。荒涼之地必有人耕種，路人再也看不見荒地。他們會說，以前的荒涼之地如今竟變得像伊甸園，被毀壞廢棄的荒涼城邑已經設防，有人居住。
