I will place over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will tend them; he will tend them and be their shepherd.

伯利恆的以法他啊，你在猶大諸城中為小，將來必有一位從你那裏出來，在以色列中為我作掌權的；他的根源從亙古，從太初就有。耶和華必將以色列人交付敵人，直等那生產的婦人生下子來。那時掌權者其餘的弟兄必歸到以色列人那裏。他必起來，倚靠耶和華的大能，並耶和華－他神之名的威嚴，牧養他的羊羣。他們要安然居住；因為他必日見尊大，直到地極。這位必作我們的平安。當亞述人進入我們的地境，踐踏宮殿的時候，我們就立起七個牧者，八個首領攻擊他。

你們當就近我來；側耳而聽，就必得活。我必與你們立永約，就是應許大衛那可靠的恩典。我已立他作萬民的見證，為萬民的君王和司令。

到了牧長顯現的時候，你們必得那永不衰殘的榮耀冠冕。

但願賜平安的神，就是那憑永約之血、使羣羊的大牧人－我主耶穌從死裏復活的神，

從耶西的本必發一條；從他根生的枝子必結果實。

你們從前好像迷路的羊，如今卻歸到你們靈魂的牧人監督了。

後來以色列人必歸回，尋求他們的神－耶和華和他們的王大衛。在末後的日子，必以敬畏的心歸向耶和華，領受他的恩惠。

我必設立照管他們的牧人，牧養他們。他們不再懼怕，不再驚惶，也不缺少一個；這是耶和華說的。」耶和華說：「日子將到，我要給大衛興起一個公義的苗裔；他必掌王權，行事有智慧，在地上施行公平和公義。在他的日子，猶大必得救，以色列也安然居住。他的名必稱為『耶和華－我們的義』。」

「我－耶穌差遣我的使者為眾教會將這些事向你們證明。我是大衛的根，又是他的後裔。我是明亮的晨星。」

萬軍之耶和華說：刀劍哪，應當興起，攻擊我的牧人和我的同伴。擊打牧人，羊就分散；我必反手加在微小者的身上。

智慧人的言語好像刺棍；會中之師的言語又像釘穩的釘子，都是一個牧者所賜的。
