但如果守望者看見敵人來攻打而不吹號警告百姓，以致有人被敵人殺了，那人固然是因自己的罪惡而被殺，我卻要向這守望者追討那人被殺的血債。』

倘若守望的人见刀剑临到，不吹角，以致民不受警戒，刀剑来杀了他们中间的一个人，他虽然死在罪孽之中，我却要向守望的人讨他丧命的罪。

如戍卒見刃將至、不吹角以警民、刃至而殺人、其人死於其罪、而我必索其血於戍卒、

如守望者見刃將至、不吹角、致民不警備、刃至殺其中一人、則彼死於罪中、而其喪命之罪、我必討問於守望者、

But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes someone’s life, that person’s life will be taken because of their sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood.’

But suppose the guard sees the enemies coming. And he does not blow the trumpet to warn the people. The enemies come and kill one of them. Then their life has been taken away from them because they sinned. But I will hold the guard responsible for their death.’

But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.

But if the watchman sees the enemy coming and doesn’t sound the alarm to warn the people, he is responsible for their captivity. They will die in their sins, but I will hold the watchman responsible for their deaths.’

However, suppose the watchman sees the sword coming but doesn’t blow the ram’s horn, so that the people aren’t warned, and the sword comes and takes away their lives. Then they have been taken away because of their iniquity, but I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood.’

But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the horn and the people are not warned, and a sword comes and takes a person from them, he is taken away for his wrongdoing; but I will require his blood from the watchman’s hand.’

更何況你們這些惡徒在這個無辜人的家裡把他殺死在床上，我怎能不向你們討這血債，把你們從世上除掉？」

當我說某個惡人必滅亡時，如果你不告誡他，勸告他痛改前非，挽救他的性命，他必死在自己的罪中，而我要追究你的責任。如果你已經告誡他，他還是不肯離開自己的邪惡和罪行，他必死在罪惡之中，而你必免於罪責。如果一個義人偏離正道、犯罪作惡，我會使他跌倒，他必死亡。如果你不告誡他，他必死在罪惡之中，他以前的義行也不會被記念，而我要追究你的責任。

誰犯罪，誰死亡，兒子不用承擔父親的罪惡，父親也不用承擔兒子的罪惡。義人必有善報，惡人必有惡報。

如果我說惡人必定要死，你卻不警告他離開罪惡的行徑，他必因自己的罪而死，我卻要向你追討他喪命的血債。如果你警告惡人離開罪惡的行徑，他卻不聽，他必因自己的罪惡而死，他的死與你無關。

呂便說：「我不是勸你們不要犯罪害那孩子嗎？你們不聽，現在我們必須償還血債了。」

凡是殺人害命的，無論人或獸，我必向他們追討血債。凡殺人的，我必追討他的血債。

主耶和華說，我要攻擊這些牧人，從他們手中討回我的羊，不再讓他們牧放羊群，使他們無法再餵養自己。我要從他們口中奪回我的羊，不再讓羊成為他們的食物。

義人若棄善行惡，與惡人同流合污，這人豈能活著？他從前的義行不會被記念，他必因自己的背信和罪惡而滅亡。

耶穌又對他們說：「我要走了，你們會尋找我，你們將死在自己的罪中。我去的地方，你們不能去。」猶太人說：「祂說祂去的地方我們不能去，難道祂想自殺嗎？」耶穌對他們說：「你們是從下面來的，我是從上面來的。你們屬於這世界，我不屬於這世界。所以我說你們將死在自己的罪中，你們如果不相信我就是那一位，一定會死在自己的罪中。」

以色列的守望者瞎眼無知，是不會叫的啞巴狗，只喜歡躺下睡覺做夢。這些人就像貪吃的狗，不知飽足，又像什麼都不懂的牧人，人人各行其是，追求自己的利益。

惡人因惡行而滅亡，義人到死仍有倚靠。
