“ Son of man, sing a lament for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him:“‘ You were like a lion among the nations, but you are a monster in the seas; you thrash about in your streams, stir up the water with your feet, and muddy your streams.

“人子啊，你要为埃及王法老作哀歌，说：从前你在列国中，如同少壮狮子；现在你却像海中的大鱼。你冲出江河，用爪搅动诸水，使江河浑浊。

“人子啊，你要为埃及王法老作哀歌，说：你在列国中，如同少壮狮子，却像海里的海怪，冲出江河，以爪搅动诸水，使江河浑浊。

“人子啊，你要为埃及王法老唱哀歌，对他说，“‘你自认为是列邦中的雄狮，其实你像激荡江河、用脚把江河搅浑的海怪。

“人子啊！你要为埃及王法老作一首哀歌，对他说：‘你像列国中的少壮狮子，又像海中的海怪，你在河中翻腾，用你的爪搅动河水，使江河浑浊。

「人子啊，你要為埃及王法老作哀歌，說：從前你在列國中，如同少壯獅子；現在你卻像海中的大魚。你衝出江河，用爪攪動諸水，使江河渾濁。

「人子啊，你要為埃及王法老作哀歌，說：你在列國中，如同少壯獅子，卻像海裏的海怪，衝出江河，以爪攪動諸水，使江河渾濁。

「人子啊，你要為埃及王法老作哀歌，說：你在列國中，如同少壯獅子，卻像海裏的海怪，衝出江河，以爪攪動諸水，使江河渾濁。

「人子啊，你要為埃及王法老唱哀歌，對他說，『你自認為是列邦中的雄獅，其實你像激蕩江河、用腳把江河攪渾的海怪。

“人子啊！你要為埃及王法老作一首哀歌，對他說：‘你像列國中的少壯獅子，又像海中的海怪，你在河中翻騰，用你的爪攪動河水，使江河渾濁。

『人子啊，你要為埃及王舉哀唱歌，對他說：『列國中的少壯獅子啊，你可完啦！你，你像海中的鱷魚；卻在你的江河裏衝激着，用你的腳攪濁了水，踹渾了眾水的江河。

人子歟、當為埃及王法老作哀歌、謂曰、爾於列國中、昔若壯獅、今若海中之鱷、衝突於爾河、以足攪水、使河渾濁、

人子、當為埃及王法老作哀歌、告之曰爾若獅之伏於民間、若鱷之居於海中、出入江河、足亂波濤、使水混濁、

人子、當為伊及王法老作哀歌、告之曰、爾若壯獅於列民間、若龍龍或作鱷於海中、爾出入江河、以足攪水、使河流渾濁、

“ Son of man, take up a lament concerning Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him:“‘ You are like a lion among the nations; you are like a monster in the seas thrashing about in your streams, churning the water with your feet and muddying the streams.

“ Son of man, sing a song of sadness about Pharaoh Hophra, the king of Egypt. Tell him,“‘ You are like a lion among the nations. You are like a monster in the sea. You move around wildly in your rivers. You churn the water with your feet. You make the streams muddy.’ ”

“ Son of man, raise a lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him:“ You consider yourself a lion of the nations, but you are like a dragon in the seas; you burst forth in your rivers, trouble the waters with your feet, and foul their rivers.

“ Son of man, mourn for Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and give him this message:“ You think of yourself as a strong young lion among the nations, but you are really just a sea monster, heaving around in your own rivers, stirring up mud with your feet.

“ Son of man, lament for Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him,‘ You compare yourself to a lion of the nations, but you are like a monster in the seas. You thrash about in your rivers, churn up the waters with your feet, and muddy the rivers.

“ Son of man, take up a song of mourning over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him,‘ You compared yourself to a young lion of the nations, Yet you are like the monster in the seas; And you burst forth in your rivers And muddied the waters with your feet And fouled their rivers.’ ”

“ Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him:‘ You are like a young lion among the nations, And you are like a monster in the seas, Bursting forth in your rivers, Troubling the waters with your feet, And fouling their rivers.

Son of man, take up a lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say unto him, Thou wast likened unto a young lion of the nations: yet art thou as a monster in the seas; and thou didst break forth with thy rivers, and troubledst the waters with thy feet, and fouledst their rivers.

“ Son of man, lament for Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him: You compare yourself to a lion of the nations, but you are like a monster in the seas. You thrash about in your rivers, churn up the waters with your feet, and muddy the rivers.”

Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say unto him, Thou art like a young lion of the nations, and thou[ art] as a whale in the seas: and thou camest forth with thy rivers, and troubledst the waters with thy feet, and fouledst their rivers.

‘ Son of man, take up a lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and tell him,“ You were likened to a young lion of the nations; yet you are as a monster in the seas. You broke out with your rivers, and troubled the waters with your feet, and fouled their rivers.”

Tell them,‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says:“‘ Look, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster lying in the midst of its waterways, who has said,“ My Nile is my own, I made it for myself.”

“ You, son of man, sing a lament for Tyre.

Where now is the den of the lions, the feeding place of the young lions, where the lion, lioness, and lion cub once prowled and no one disturbed them?The lion tore apart as much prey as his cubs needed and strangled prey to provide food for his lionesses; he filled his lairs with prey and his dens with torn flesh.“ I am against you!” declares the LORD who commands armies:“ I will burn your chariots with fire; the sword will devour your young lions; you will no longer prey upon the land; the voices of your messengers will no longer be heard.”

Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture, that you must trample the rest of your pastures with your feet? When you drink clean water, must you muddy the rest of the water by trampling it with your feet?

“ Son of man, sing a lament for the king of Tyre, and say to him,‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says:“‘ You were the sealer of perfection, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

This is a lament; they will chant it. The daughters of the nations will chant it. They will chant it over Egypt and over all her hordes, declares the sovereign LORD.”

At that time the LORD will punish with his destructive, great, and powerful sword Leviathan the fast-moving serpent, Leviathan the squirming serpent; he will kill the sea monster.

“ And you, sing a lament for the princes of Israel,and say:“‘ What a lioness was your mother among the lions! She lay among young lions; she reared her cubs.She reared one of her cubs; he became a young lion. He learned to tear prey; he devoured people.The nations heard about him; he was trapped in their pit. They brought him with hooks to the land of Egypt.“‘ When she realized that she waited in vain, her hope was lost. She took another of her cubs and made him a young lion.He walked about among the lions; he became a young lion. He learned to tear prey; he devoured people.

Sheba and Dedan and the traders of Tarshish with all its young warriors will say to you,“ Have you come to loot? Have you assembled your armies to plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to haul away a great amount of spoils?”’

Like a lion that has come up from its lair the one who destroys nations has set out from his home base. He is coming out to lay your land waste. Your cities will become ruins and lie uninhabited.

Wake up! Wake up! Clothe yourself with strength, O arm of the LORD! Wake up as in former times, as in antiquity! Did you not smash the Proud One? Did you not wound the sea monster?

As they wail they will lament over you, chanting:“ Who was like Tyre, like a tower in the midst of the sea?”

“ Son of man, wail over the horde of Egypt. Bring it down; bring her and the daughters of powerful nations down to the lower parts of the earth, along with those who descend to the pit.

You are a lion’s cub, Judah, from the prey, my son, you have gone up. He crouches and lies down like a lion; like a lioness– who will rouse him?

I said,“ Indeed, let them come quickly and sing a song of mourning for us. Let them wail loudly until tears stream from our own eyes and our eyelids overflow with water.

They crouch and lie down like a lion, and as a lioness, who can stir him? Blessed is the one who blesses you, and cursed is the one who curses you!’”

Like a roaring lion or a roving bear, so is a wicked ruler over a poor people.

You destroyed the sea by your strength; you shattered the heads of the sea monster in the water.You crushed the heads of Leviathan; you fed him to the people who live along the coast.

Egypt rises like the Nile, like its streams turbulent at flood stage. Egypt says,‘ I will arise and cover the earth. I will destroy cities and the people who inhabit them.’
