你在伊甸—神的园中，佩戴各样宝石，就是红宝石、红璧玺、金刚石、水苍玉、红玛瑙、碧玉、蓝宝石、绿宝石、红玉；你的宝石有黄金的底座，手工精巧，都是在你受造之日预备的。

它的影子遮蔽群山，枝子好像高大的香柏树。

耶和华已经安慰锡安，安慰了锡安一切的废墟，使旷野如伊甸，使沙漠像耶和华的园子；其中必有欢喜、快乐、感谢，和歌唱的声音。

罗得举目，看见约旦河整个平原，直到琐珥，都是水源充足之地。在耶和华未毁灭所多玛、蛾摩拉以前，那地好像耶和华的园子，又像埃及地。

耶和华神在东方的伊甸栽了一个园子，把所造的人安置在那里。耶和华神使各样的树从土地里长出来，可以悦人的眼目，好作食物。园子当中有生命树和知善恶的树。

我把它扔到阴间，与下到地府的人一同坠落。那时，列国听见坠落的响声就震惊；伊甸一切的树木，就是黎巴嫩中得水滋润、最佳最美的树，在地底下都得了安慰。

在这样的荣耀与威势中，伊甸树木有谁能与你相比呢？然而你要与伊甸的树木一同到地底下；在未受割礼的人中，与被刀所杀的人一同躺下。“法老和他的军队正是如此。这是主耶和华说的。”

将军对他们说：“你们去告诉希西家，大王亚述王如此说：‘你倚赖什么，让你如此自信满满？我说，你有打仗的计谋和能力，我看不过是空话。你到底倚靠谁，竟敢背叛我呢？看哪，你所倚靠的埃及是那断裂的苇杖，人若倚靠这杖，它就刺进他的手，穿透它。埃及王法老向所有倚靠他的人都是这样。你若对我说：我们倚靠耶和华—我们的神，希西家岂不是将神的丘坛和祭坛废去，且吩咐犹大和耶路撒冷的人说：你们只当在这一个坛前敬拜吗？现在你与我主亚述王打赌，我给你两千匹马，看你能否派得出骑士来骑它们。若不然，怎能使我主臣仆中最小的一个军官转脸而逃呢？你难道要倚靠埃及的战车和骑兵吗？现在我上来攻击毁灭这地，岂不是出于耶和华吗？耶和华吩咐我说，你上去攻击这地，毁灭它吧！’”以利亚敬、舍伯那、约亚对将军说：“求你用亚兰话对仆人说，因为我们听得懂；不要用犹大话对我们说，免得传到城墙上百姓的耳中。”将军说：“我主差遣我来，岂是单对你和你的主人说这些话吗？不也是对这些坐在城墙上，要与你们一同吃自己粪、喝自己尿的人说的吗？”于是亚述将军站着，用犹大话大声喊着说：“你们当听大王亚述王的话，王如此说：‘你们不要被希西家欺哄了，因他不能拯救你们。不要听凭希西家说服你们倚靠耶和华，他说，耶和华必要拯救我们，这城必不交在亚述王的手中。’你们不要听希西家的话！因亚述王如此说：‘你们要与我讲和，出来投降，各人就可以吃自己葡萄树和无花果树的果子，喝自己井里的水，等我来领你们到一个地方，与你们本地一样，就是有五谷和新酒之地，有粮食和葡萄园之地。恐怕希西家误导你们说，耶和华必拯救我们。列国的神明有哪一个曾救它本国脱离亚述王的手呢？

我见过恶人大有势力，高耸如本地青翠的树木。

然而，这并非他的意念，他的心不是这样打算；他的心要摧毁，要剪除不少的国家。他说：“我的官长岂不都是君王吗？迦勒挪岂不像迦基米施吗？哈马岂不像亚珥拔吗？撒玛利亚岂不像大马士革吗？既然我的手已伸到了这些有偶像的国，他们所雕刻的偶像过于耶路撒冷和撒玛利亚的偶像，我岂不照样待耶路撒冷和其中的偶像，如同我待撒玛利亚和其中的偶像吗？”主在锡安山和耶路撒冷成就他一切工作的时候，说：“我必惩罚亚述王自大的心和他高傲尊贵的眼目。”因为他说：“我所成就的事是靠我手的能力和我的智慧，因为我本有聪明。我挪移列国的地界，抢夺他们所积蓄的财宝，并且像勇士，使坐宝座的降为卑。我的手夺取列国的财宝，好像人夺取鸟窝；我得了全地，好像人拾起被弃的鸟蛋；没有振动翅膀的，没有张嘴的，也没有鸣叫的。”

看哪，你总听说亚述诸王向列国所行的是尽行灭绝，难道你能幸免吗？我祖先所毁灭的，就是歌散、哈兰、利色和提‧拉撒的伊甸人；这些国的神明何曾拯救他们呢？哈马的王，亚珥拔的王，西法瓦音城的王，希拿和以瓦的王，都在哪里呢？’”
