都為的是要使水旁的眾樹、樹身都不高聳，不將其樹梢挺立入於雲霄間，只要使凡所有得水滋潤的樹都不屹立於高聳中；因為他們都被交於死亡，交於地府之最低處、在人類中間、到那些下冥坑的人那裏。

好使水旁的诸树不因高大而自尊，也不将树尖插入云中，并且那些得水滋润、有势力的，也不得高大自立。因为它们在世人中，和下坑的人都被交与死亡，到阴府去了。”

为了要使水边的树木枝干不再长高，树顶也不再高耸入云；那些得水滋润的，不再屹立于其中。因为它们和下到地府的人一起，都被交与死亡，到了地底下。”

使水濱諸木、不誇其崇高、其杪不入雲中、得灌溉之強者、不復聳立、俱必死亡、偃於下土、至歸墓之人中、○

使天下林木、植於水旁、勿誇其株高幹偉、枝葉蓁蓁、喬木森然、終必枯萎、偃於下土、與人之歸墓無異、

使水旁之諸樹、不復高大、不復枝葉茂盛、巔頂崇高、不復因崇高、使彼得灌溉之群樹、立於四周、因俱必枯而死、偃於地之深處、與人之下墓無異、

Therefore no other trees by the waters are ever to tower proudly on high, lifting their tops above the thick foliage. No other trees so well- watered are ever to reach such a height; they are all destined for death, for the earth below, among mortals who go down to the realm of the dead.

So trees that receive plenty of water must never grow so high that it makes them proud. Their tops must never be above the rest of the leaves. No other trees that receive a lot of water must ever grow that high. They are appointed to die and go down into the earth below. They will join human beings, who go down to the place of the dead.”

All this is in order that no trees by the waters may grow to towering height or set their tops among the clouds, and that no trees that drink water may reach up to them in height. For they are all given over to death, to the world below, among the children of man, with those who go down to the pit.

Let the tree of no other nation proudly exult in its own prosperity, though it be higher than the clouds and it be watered from the depths. For all are doomed to die, to go down to the depths of the earth. They will land in the pit along with everyone else on earth.

This happened so that no trees planted beside water would become great in height and set their tops among the clouds, and so that no other well-watered trees would reach them in height. For they have all been consigned to death, to the underworld, among the people who descend to the Pit.

so that all the trees by the waters will not be exalted in their stature, nor put their tops among the clouds, nor will any of their well watered mighty ones stand straight in their height. For they have all been turned over to death, to the earth beneath, among mankind, with those who go down to the pit.”

So that no trees by the waters may ever again exalt themselves for their height, nor set their tops among the thick boughs, that no tree which drinks water may ever be high enough to reach up to them.‘ For they have all been delivered to death, To the depths of the earth, Among the children of men who go down to the Pit.’

那時我就叫你跟那些下陰坑的人一起下到古時的人那裏；我就使你住在地府之最低處、在久已荒廢之地，跟那些下了陰坑的人在一起，使你不再有居民，也不得在活人之地有位置。

其實你們是會死的，像世人一樣；王子們哪，你們都必一概倒斃。』

按所保留給人的、只有一次的死，死後有審判。

從前你們列祖豈不是這樣行，以致我們的上帝使這一切災禍臨到我們和這城麼？現在你們還瀆犯着安息日、使上帝的烈怒越發臨到以色列啊！』

他們所遭遇的這些事都有象徵性；記載下來是要警戒我們、我們這些萬世之終局所達到的人。

上帝既叫所多瑪蛾摩拉城燒成灰燼，判歸傾覆，立做後來行不虔事之人的借鑑，

他本城的眾人就要扔石頭砍他，砍到死去；這樣、你就把那壞事從你中間肅清了；這樣、全以色列聽見，就懼怕了。

『人子啊，你要為埃及的眾民而哀號哦，將他們、將埃及和大有威力的列國哭喪女、都送下地府之最低處，跟那些下了陰坑的人在一起哦！「埃及啊，你比誰更可喜悅呢？下去吧！去跟那些沒受割禮的長臥在一起吧！」他們必仆倒在那些被刀刺死的人中間；有刀交出來了；把她和她所有的眾民拉下去吧！大有威勢的領袖必從陰間中論到埃及跟她的幫助者說：「他們已經下來，長臥着不動呢：嘿，沒受割禮的、被刀刺死的人。」『在那裏有亞述和她一團的眾人；其墳墓在她四圍：他們都是被刺死、倒斃於刀下的；其墳墓設在陰坑中的極深處；她一團人在她墳墓的四圍，都是被刺死、倒斃於刀下的；他們曾在活人之地使人驚恐。『在那裏有以攔，她的眾民在她墳墓的四圍；都是被刺死、倒斃於刀下的；他們沒受割禮而下地府之最低處；他們曾在活人之地使人驚恐，如今正擔受着羞辱、跟下了陰坑的人在一起呢。在被刺死的人中間人給她鋪個永臥處在她所有的眾民中；其墳墓在她四圍；他們都是沒受割禮、被刀刺死的：他們曾在活人之地使人驚恐，如今正擔受着羞辱，跟下了陰坑的人在一起，永被安置在被刺死的人中間呢。『在那裏有米設和土巴跟她所有的眾民；其墳墓在她四圍；他們都是沒受割禮而被刀刺死的；他們曾在活人之地使人驚恐。他們豈不是跟古來倒斃的勇士們長臥在一起麼？這些勇士帶着戰具下陰間，腦袋下枕着刀劍，骨頭上有盾牌蓋着，因為他們曾在活人之地使勇士們驚恐。而你法老啊，你就在沒受割禮的人中間被破滅，跟被刀刺死的人長臥在一起了。『在那裏有以東，她的王和眾首領雖然英勇，還被安置跟被刀刺死的人在一起；他們跟沒受割禮的人長臥在一起，跟那些下了陰坑的在一道。『在那裏有北方的公侯與西頓的眾人、都跟被刺死的人一起下去，雖則他們曾以他們的英勇使人驚恐，他們仍然蒙羞，沒受割禮而跟被刀刺死的人長臥在一起，擔受着羞辱，跟那些下了陰坑的人在一起。『法老看見他們，必為了他所有的眾民、法老自己和他的全軍、被刀刺死的、而引以自慰：主永恆主發神諭說。因為法老曾經在活人之地使人驚恐；因此他必須永被安放在沒有受過割禮的人中間，法老自己和他所有的眾民、跟那些被刀刺死的人在一起：這是主永恆主發神諭說的。』

這樣、全以色列聽見，就會懼怕，再也不會在你中間行這樣的惡了。

你必被趕逐離開人類，你的住處必同山野的走獸在一起；你必受迫而喫草如牛，經過七個時期，等到你承認至高者在人國中掌權，他喜歡將國賜給誰，就賜給誰。』

但那尋索我命、要毁滅我命的人必往地府之最底處；他們必被交付於刀劍權下，被狼分喫。

而你呢，伯沙撒啊，你是他的兒子，你雖知道這一切，你心仍不自己謙卑，竟對着天上的主高抬自己，叫人把他殿中的器皿拿到你面前，你和你大臣、王后、妃嬪竟用這些器皿來喝酒；你又稱頌那些金銀銅鐵、木頭石頭的神，就是那些不能看、不能聽、不能知道的；至於那手中執掌你氣息、那管理你一生行程的上帝、你卻不將尊榮歸與他。

論光榮和昌大、在伊甸的眾樹中誰能這樣跟你相比呢？然而你卻要跟伊甸的眾樹一起被送下地府之最低處，在沒受割禮的人中間、跟被刀刺死的人長臥在一起。『這就是法老和他的眾民：永恆主發神諭說。』
