當那日子、埃及人必像婦人一樣；他們必因萬軍之永恆主的掄手、就是他在埃及身上所掄的、來發顫懼怕。猶大地必使埃及怕得搖搖晃晃；人向誰提起猶大，誰就懼怕；這是因萬軍之永恆主對責罰埃及的事所定的旨意。

『永恆主發神諭說：刀劍哪，攻擊迦勒底人哦！攻擊巴比倫的居民哦！攻擊她的首領和智慧人哦！讓刀劍攻擊胡謅的豫言者，使他們愚昧無能！讓刀劍攻擊她的勇士，使他們驚慌失措！讓刀劍攻擊她的馬匹和車輛，攻擊其中的雜族眾人，使他們變像婦人女子！讓刀劍攻擊她的寶物，使它們都被劫掠！

在那裏戰兢抓住了他們；他們掙扎難過、像產難的婦人一樣。上帝啊，你用東風打破他施式的航洋船。

你們要四圍吶喊攻擊她；她已授手投降了；她的外郭倒壞了；她的城牆翻毁了；因為這是永恆主報復的事：你們要向巴比倫報復：她怎樣待人，你們也要怎樣待她。

萬族之民聽見就戰抖，慘痛抓住了非利士的居民。那時以東的族系長驚惶，摩押的權貴被戰兢抓住，迦南的居民都震撼搖動：恐怖震懾襲擊了他們。永恆主啊，因你膀臂之大能力，他們竟如石頭寂然不動，等你的人民過去，等你所獲得的人民過去。
