But the people of Israel are not willing to listen to you because they are not willing to listen to me, for all the Israelites are hardened and obstinate.

But the people of Israel do not want to listen to you. That is because they do not want to listen to me. All the Israelites are very stubborn.

But the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you, for they are not willing to listen to me: because all the house of Israel have a hard forehead and a stubborn heart.

But the people of Israel won’t listen to you any more than they listen to me! For the whole lot of them are hard hearted and stubborn.

永恆主對撒母耳說：『關於人民向你說的一切話你只管依從，因為他們不是棄絕你，乃是棄絕了我作王來管理他們。

他們之看情面作證控訴他們；他們的罪像所多瑪、他們都敘說出來，並不隱瞞。他們有禍啊！因為他們以災害賞報自己。

『從猶大王亞們的兒子約西亞十三年直到今日、這二十三年之內、時常有永恆主的話傳與我，我也對你們傳講，又及時又屢次地傳講，你們卻不聽從。你們總不聽從，不傾耳以聽，雖則永恆主曾差遣了他的眾僕人眾神言人，又及時又屢次地差遣來

他的公民素常恨他，便差遣使者跟他後邊去說：「我們不願意這個人做王管理我們。」

耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷，你常殺害神言人，扔石頭打死奉差遣到你裏面去的人。我多少次願意聚集你的兒女，彷彿母雞把自己的小雞聚集在翅膀底下，你們卻不願意！

因此甘霖停止，春雨不降；你還有妓女面孔，不顧羞恥！

你們要記得我對你們說過的話：「僕人不比主人大」。他們若逼迫了我，也必逼迫你們；若遵守了我的話，也必遵守你們的話。但因我名的緣故、這一切事他們是會向你們行的，因為他們不認識那差我來的。我若沒有來對他們講話，他們就沒有罪；如今呢、他們的罪是無可推諉的了。恨我的，也恨我的父。我若沒有在他們中間行過別人所沒有行過的事，他們就沒有罪；如今呢、連我與我的父、他們都看見了，也都恨惡了。

因為她所殺人流的血還在城中；她是將血潑在光溜溜的磐石上，不是倒在地上，用塵土去掩蓋的。

『你奉永恆主的名對我們說的話，我們不聽你。

永恆主啊，你的眼目不是注視忠誠麼？你擊打他們，他們卻不傷慟：你毁滅他們，他們卻不肯接受管教；他們硬着臉皮、比磐石還硬，總不肯轉回。

我差遣我的眾僕人眾神言人去找你們，又屢次又及時地差遣去說：「你們切不可行我所恨的這可厭惡之事。」他們卻不聽從，不傾耳以聽、以轉離他們的壞事、而不向別的神燻祭。

你們卻不情願來找我得生命！從人來的榮耀、我不領受，我只認識你們，知道你們沒有愛上帝的心在你們裏面。我奉我父的名而來，你們不接納我；若有別人奉自己的名而來，那種人你們倒要接納呢！你們互相領受榮耀，不求從獨一無二之上帝那裏來的榮耀，怎能信呢？別以為是我要在父面前控告你們了。有控告你們的、就是你們素來所寄望的摩西。你們如果信摩西，也就會信我了；因為關於我的事、他曾寫過。你們若不信他所寫的，怎能信我的話語呢？』

聽從你們的、就是聽我；棄絕你們的、就是棄絕我；棄絕我的、就是棄絕那差遣我的。』
