爾因美麗、中心驕泰、亦因光彩、失其智慧、故我必傾圮爾、使列王目睹。

Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings.

You thought you were so handsome that it made your heart proud. You thought you were so glorious that it spoiled your wisdom. So I threw you down to the earth. I made an example out of you in front of kings.

Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you.

Your heart was filled with pride because of all your beauty. Your wisdom was corrupted by your love of splendor. So I threw you to the ground and exposed you to the curious gaze of kings.

人子、當告推羅王曰、主天主如是云、爾心驕傲、自謂我乃神、我坐神之位於海中、爾實屬人、並非神也、自以為己心如神心、

爾甚巧於貿易、增益貲財、遂因貲財心驕、

因自高者將降為卑、自卑者將升為高也、○

如是我於斯地除諸邪淫、使眾婦受警戒、不效爾曹行淫、

經載云、我將滅智者之智、廢慧者之慧、智者安在、經士安在、斯世之辯士安在、天主豈非使斯世之智為愚乎、世既以智不識天主、則天主喜以宣道之愚、救諸信者、此乃天主之智也、

自稱為智者、必愧怍驚恐而見拘、彼棄主言、焉得為智乎、

主使之立於滑地、使之陷於沈淪、

自稱為智、反成愚魯、以永生不可壞天主之榮、易以偶像、髣髴可壞之人、及禽獸昆蟲之形、故天主聽其心之嗜慾、淪於污穢、互辱其身、彼以天主之真、易以虛偽、崇拜奉事受造之物、不崇拜奉事造物之主、即永當頌美者也、阿們、

主扶起謙卑之人、降卑惡人至於塵埃、

主天主曰、我加爾華飾、全爾豔色、其聲名傳於列邦、惟爾自恃爾美、因爾聲名徧揚、遂徇欲行淫、無論何人經過、爾即放縱嗜慾、與之苟合、爾之身即歸於彼、

心驕必敗、氣傲必躓、

人驕矜必致取辱、謙遜者可謂有智、

瑣安之候伯、盡為愚蒙、法老謀士之智者、其謀忽成拙計、焉能告法老曰、我乃先賢之後、古王之裔哉、爾之智慧者安在、萬有之主為伊及所定之謀、謀或作命下同彼當知之、當告爾、瑣安之侯伯愚蒙、挪弗之侯伯迷惑、伊及諸支派之領袖、謬引伊及人、

然彼賜恩尤大、故曰、天主擯斥驕傲者、賜恩於謙卑者、

我於多國之民前、向爾揮我劍、無不因爾驚駭、其諸君王、必因爾驚惶於爾傾仆之日、彼皆畏懼、恐喪生命、時時戰慄、

震動爾怒、見矜高者則抑之、見驕傲者則降之、將惡人踐於其所、

我必使外邦人、列國之強暴者至而攻爾、拔刃毀爾以智慧所得之美物、壞爾之榮華、

以火焚爾宅第、在眾婦前加罰爾身、我使爾不復行淫、不復以金贈人、
