Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones.

You traded with many nations. You harmed people everywhere. And you sinned. So I sent you away from my mountain in shame. Guardian angel, I drove you away from among the gleaming jewels.

In the abundance of your trade you were filled with violence in your midst, and you sinned; so I cast you as a profane thing from the mountain of God, and I destroyed you, O guardian cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

Your rich commerce led you to violence, and you sinned. So I banished you in disgrace from the mountain of God. I expelled you, O mighty guardian, from your place among the stones of fire.

By the abundance of thy traffic they filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore have I cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God; and I have destroyed thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the people shall spoil thee; because of men’s blood, and[ for] the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.

For the violence of Lebanon shall cover thee, and the spoil of beasts,[ which] made them afraid, because of men’s blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.

So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and[ into] many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen[ this], O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.

In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their masters’ houses with violence and deceit.

Tarshish[ was] thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all[ kind of] riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in thy fairs.Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they[ were] thy merchants: they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass in thy market.They of the house of Togarmah traded in thy fairs with horses and horsemen and mules.The men of Dedan[ were] thy merchants; many isles[ were] the merchandise of thine hand: they brought thee[ for] a present horns of ivory and ebony.Syria[ was] thy merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of thy making: they occupied in thy fairs with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and agate.Judah, and the land of Israel, they[ were] thy merchants: they traded in thy market wheat of Minnith, and Pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm.Damascus[ was] thy merchant in the multitude of the wares of thy making, for the multitude of all riches; in the wine of Helbon, and white wool.Dan also and Javan going to and fro occupied in thy fairs: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were in thy market.Dedan[ was] thy merchant in precious clothes for chariots.Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they occupied with thee in lambs, and rams, and goats: in these[ were they] thy merchants.The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they[ were] thy merchants: they occupied in thy fairs with chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur,[ and] Chilmad,[ were] thy merchants.These[ were] thy merchants in all sorts[ of things], in blue clothes, and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords, and made of cedar, among thy merchandise.The ships of Tarshish did sing of thee in thy market: and thou wast replenished, and made very glorious in the midst of the seas.Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas.Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the occupiers of thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that[ are] in thee, and in all thy company which[ is] in the midst of thee, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of thy ruin.The suburbs shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.And all that handle the oar, the mariners,[ and] all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships, they shall stand upon the land;And shall cause their voice to be heard against thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of heart[ and] bitter wailing.And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee,[ saying], What[ city is] like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?When thy wares went forth out of the seas, thou filledst many people; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise.In the time[ when] thou shalt be broken by the seas in the depths of the waters thy merchandise and all thy company in the midst of thee shall fall.All the inhabitants of the isles shall be astonished at thee, and their kings shall be sore afraid, they shall be troubled in[ their] countenance.The merchants among the people shall hiss at thee; thou shalt be a terror, and never[ shalt be] any more.

The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof.

Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit[ any] of these abominations;[ neither] any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:( For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which[ were] before you, and the land is defiled;)That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that[ were] before you.

For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue[ is] deceitful in their mouth.

And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.

And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise.

And they covet fields, and take[ them] by violence; and houses, and take[ them] away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

[ He is] a merchant, the balances of deceit[ are] in his hand: he loveth to oppress.

Arise ye, and depart; for this[ is] not[ your] rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy[ you], even with a sore destruction.

And I will drive thee from thy station, and from thy state shall he pull thee down.

And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
