For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast[ them] down to hell, and delivered[ them] into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning![ how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin[ is] a reproach to any people.

The crown is fallen[ from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!

Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man[ was] great in the earth, and[ that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart[ was] only evil continually.And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold,[ it was] very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
