他們必死於致命的疫癘，無人舉哀，不得葬埋，等於糞土在地上。他們必被刀劍和饑荒滅盡；他們的屍體必給空中的飛鳥和地上的野獸做食物。『因為永恆主這麼說：你不要進入嚎啕之家，不要去哀哭，不要為他們悲傷；因為我已從這人民身上奪去我的平安、堅愛、和憐憫：這是永恆主發神諭說的。在這地無論大小的都必死，不得埋葬；必沒有人為他們哀哭；沒有人為他們而刻劃身體，或使頭部光禿。必沒有人為他的哀悼而擘餅；沒有人因死人而安慰他；也沒有人因他喪父或喪母而給他一杯安慰酒喝。

主永恆主發神諭說：『那日宮殿中的詩歌必哀號：嘿，屍身多極了！各處都是！人拋棄的！一片死寂！』

那時你們要照我所行的去行：不蒙着嘴脣，也不喫居喪者的飯。你們的華美裹頭巾仍要包在頭上，你們的鞋仍要穿在腳上；你們不可號咷哭泣；你們必在你們自己的罪罰中消削淨盡，彼此相對地哀吼。

『你們要靜止勿動，要知道是我、上帝、要在列國中被尊為至高，在全地上被尊為高超。

惟獨永恆主在他的聖殿堂，全地在他面前都要屏息肅靜。
