大衛蒙頭赤腳上橄欖山，一面上一面哭。跟隨他的人也都蒙頭哭着上去；

摩西對亞倫和他兒子以利亞撒、以他瑪說：「不可蓬頭散髮，也不可撕裂衣裳，免得你們死亡，又免得耶和華向會眾發怒；只要你們的弟兄以色列全家為耶和華所發的火哀哭。

「在弟兄中作大祭司、頭上倒了膏油、又承接聖職、穿了聖衣的，不可蓬頭散髮，也不可撕裂衣服。

因我所遭遇的是出於你，我就默然不語。

先見必抱愧，占卜的必蒙羞，都必摀着嘴唇，因為神不應允他們。

你當默然倚靠耶和華，耐性等候他；不要因那道路通達的和那惡謀成就的心懷不平。

「身上有長大痲瘋災病的，他的衣服要撕裂，也要蓬頭散髮，蒙着上唇，喊叫說：『不潔淨了！不潔淨了！』

他們必死得甚苦，無人哀哭，必不得葬埋，必在地上像糞土，必被刀劍和饑荒滅絕；他們的屍首必給空中的飛鳥和地上的野獸作食物。」耶和華如此說：「不要進入喪家，不要去哀哭，也不要為他們悲傷，因我已將我的平安、慈愛、憐憫從這百姓奪去了。這是耶和華說的。連大帶小，都必在這地死亡，不得葬埋。人必不為他們哀哭，不用刀劃身，也不使頭光禿。他們有喪事，人必不為他們擘餅，因死人安慰他們；他們喪父喪母，人也不給他們一杯酒安慰他們。

主耶和華說：「那日，殿中的詩歌變為哀號；必有許多屍首在各處拋棄，無人作聲。」

那時，你們必行我僕人所行的，不蒙着嘴唇，也不吃弔喪的食物。你們仍要頭上勒裹頭巾，腳上穿鞋；不可悲哀哭泣。你們必因自己的罪孽相對歎息，漸漸消滅。

你們要休息，要知道我是神！我必在外邦中被尊崇，在遍地上也被尊崇。

惟耶和華在他的聖殿中；全地的人都當在他面前肅敬靜默。
