“ They even sent messengers for men who came from far away, and when they arrived you bathed yourself for them, applied eye makeup and put on your jewelry.

“ They even sent messengers to bring men from far away. When the men arrived, Oholibah took a bath. She put makeup on her eyes. She put her jewelry on.

They even sent for men to come from afar, to whom a messenger was sent; and behold, they came. For them you bathed yourself, painted your eyes, and adorned yourself with ornaments.

“ You sisters sent messengers to distant lands to get men. Then when they arrived, you bathed yourselves, painted your eyelids, and put on your finest jewels for them.

爾邦淪喪、將如之何、雖衣絳垂金、修容飾目、俱為徒勞、昔與爾行淫者、必藐視爾、謀害爾。

耶戶至耶斯烈、耶洗別聞之、則櫛髮修容、自牖而窺。

以金銀飾爾之體、以棉絲絺繡、被爾之身、以麵及蜜與油、果爾之腹、遂成艷麗、邦國之興、亦若是。主耶和華又曰、爾有殊色、榮煌赫奕、名震列邦、我使之然。惟爾自恃其美、聲名洋溢、故縱私欲、無論何人、隨在與之行淫。爾取衣服、五彩俱備、飾諸崇坵、狥欲而行、自昔迄今、未有若此、後亦無有。

爾自沐膏、多用香品、入覲君王、遣使遠方、爾自屈辱、幾陷陰府、

除其足釧、解其彩絡、脫其月笄、去其耳環手釧、褫其蔽面之帕、摘其蒙首之巾、以及足練、文紳、香盒、祛邪之籙。指環鼻環、華衣、公服、外飾之裳、荷囊。銅鏡、衵服、蔽首之帕、被身之巾、

有婦相迎、炫妝若妓、巧其心思、

爾宜浴身、沃膏衣衣、往於麥場、彼飲食時、毋使其知爾在焉。

眾女薰沐、例用沒藥之油半載、芬芳之品半載、以潔其身、屆期、眾女依次覲王、

希西家喜、以寶物金銀、芬芳之品、香膏器皿、府庫及宮闈四境所有、俱使之觀。先知以賽亞見希西家王曰、此人奚自、與爾何言。希西家曰、來自遠方、即巴比倫、曰、彼在宮闈、所見何物。希西家曰、凡宮闈府庫之物、悉令觀焉。
