On the very day they sacrificed their children to their idols, they entered my sanctuary and desecrated it. That is what they did in my house.

耶和华说：“先知和祭司都不敬虔，我甚至看见他们在我的圣殿里行恶。

他们的表情显出他们心术不正，他们跟所多玛人一样对自己的罪恶津津乐道，毫不隐瞒。他们必大祸临头，自招毁灭。

“‘然而，你们竟相信那些空洞的谎言。你们偷盗、谋杀、通奸、起假誓、向巴力献祭、拜素不认识的神明，然后来到这用来敬拜我的殿，站在我面前说自己安全了，以为可以继续做可憎之事。难道这用来敬拜我的殿在你们眼中竟成了贼窝？这些事，我都看在眼里。这是耶和华说的。

我所爱的子民既然罪恶滔天，还在我殿里做什么？难道祭肉可以为他们消灾免祸吗？他们以作恶为乐。

同时，她们还在同一天玷污我的圣所，亵渎我的安息日，

城里的首领为贪赃而枉法，祭司为银子而施教，先知为钱财而占卜。他们却宣称倚靠耶和华，说：“耶和华不是在我们当中吗？灾祸不会临到我们。”

耶和华曾指着祂的殿说：“我的名必永远在耶路撒冷。”他却在耶和华的殿内建造异教的祭坛。他在耶和华殿的两个院子里建造祭拜天上万象的祭坛。他还在欣嫩子谷把自己的儿子烧死，献作祭物。他行巫术、占卜、观兆，求问灵媒和巫师。他做了许多耶和华视为恶的事，惹耶和华发怒。他雕刻偶像，放在上帝的殿中。关于这殿，上帝曾经对大卫和他儿子所罗门说：“我从以色列众支派中选择了这殿和耶路撒冷，我的名要在这里永远受尊崇。

黎明的时候，众人从该亚法那里把耶稣押往总督府，他们自己却没有进去，因为怕沾染污秽，不能吃逾越节的晚餐。
