受賄以流人血、貸金而取利息、行暴於鄰、得財無厭、而忘乎我、主耶和華言之矣、

受賄以殺人、取利追索、棄我耶和華。

爾中有人受賄為殺人流血、有人索利取息、訛詐人、欺騙人、爾竟忘我、此乃主天主所言、

In you are people who accept bribes to shed blood; you take interest and make a profit from the poor. You extort unjust gain from your neighbors. And you have forgotten me, declares the Sovereign Lord.

You accept money from people who want special favors. You do this to spill someone’s blood. You charge interest to poor people when you lend them money. You make money from them. You get rich by cheating your neighbors. And you have forgotten me,” announces the Lord and King.

In you they take bribes to shed blood; you take interest and profit and make gain of your neighbors by extortion; but me you have forgotten, declares the Lord God.

There are hired murderers, loan racketeers, and extortioners everywhere. They never even think of me and my commands, says the Sovereign Lord.

He does not lend his money at interest, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. One who does these things will never be shaken.

lends money at interest and takes interest; will he live? He will not live! He has committed all these abominations, he shall certainly be put to death; his blood will be on himself.

The godly person has perished from the land, And there is no upright person among mankind. All of them lie in wait for bloodshed; Each of them hunts the other with a net.As for evil, both hands do it well. The leader asks for a bribe, also the judge, And the great one speaks the capricious desire of his soul; So they plot it together.

and if he does not lend money at interest or take interest, if he keeps his hand from injustice and executes true justice between one person and another,

They forgot God their Savior, Who had done great things in Egypt,

Can a virgin forget her jewelry, Or a bride her attire? Yet My people have forgotten Me For days without number.

‘ Now in case a countryman of yours becomes poor and his means among you falter, then you are to sustain him, like a stranger or a resident, so that he may live with you.Do not take any kind of interest from him, but fear your God, so that your countryman may live with you.

“ You are not to charge interest to your countrymen: interest on money, food, or anything that may be loaned on interest.

You shall not distort justice, you shall not show partiality; and you shall not accept a bribe, because a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and distorts the words of the righteous.

Her leaders within her are roaring lions, Her judges are wolves at evening; They have no bones to gnaw in the morning.Her prophets are insolent, treacherous men; Her priests have profaned the sanctuary. They have done violence to the Law.

Such are the ways of everyone who makes unjust gain; It takes away the life of its possessors.

‘ You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of a hired worker are not to remain with you all night until morning.

not overindulging in wine, not a bully, but gentle, not contentious, free from the love of money.

Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, and for pay they have given themselves up to the error of Balaam, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.

But Zaccheus stopped and said to the Lord,“ Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I am giving to the poor, and if I have extorted anything from anyone, I am giving back four times as much.”

But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge people into ruin and destruction.For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Come now, you rich people, weep and howl for your miseries which are coming upon you.Your riches have rotted and your garments have become moth eaten.Your gold and your silver have corroded, and their corrosion will serve as a testimony against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure!Behold, the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and the outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of the Lord of armies.

But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so called brother if he is a sexually immoral person, or a greedy person, or an idolater, or is verbally abusive, or habitually drunk, or a swindler— not even to eat with such a person.

“ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut the kingdom of heaven in front of people; for you do not enter it yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.

Your rulers are rebels And companions of thieves; Everyone loves a bribe And chases after gifts. They do not obtain justice for the orphan, Nor does the widow’s case come before them.

The Pharisee stood and began praying this in regard to himself:‘ God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, crooked, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

And the dogs are greedy, they are never satisfied. And they are shepherds who have no understanding; They have all turned to their own way, Each one to his unjust gain, without exception.

A voice is heard on the bare heights, The weeping, the pleading of the sons of Israel. Because they have perverted their way, They have forgotten the Lord their God.

Now there was a great outcry of the people and of their wives against their Jewish brothers.

“ If you lend money to My people, to the poor among you, you are not to act as a creditor to him; you shall not charge him interest.If you ever seize your neighbor’s cloak as a pledge, you are to return it to him before the sun sets,

So I thought it over and contended with the nobles and the leading people, and said to them,“ You are lending at interest, each to his brother!” Therefore, I held a great assembly against them.

And he said to them,“ Collect no more than what you have been ordered to.”

Keep far from a false charge, and do not kill the innocent or the righteous, for I will not acquit the guilty.“ You shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the clear sighted and subverts the cause of the just.

“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self indulgence.

nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor those habitually drunk, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

You forgot the Rock who fathered you, And forgot the God who gave you birth.
