然而我為了我名的緣故縮手，沒有這樣作，免得我名在列國的人眼中被褻瀆；我曾在他們眼前把以色列人領出來。

But I withheld my hand, and for the sake of my name I did what would keep it from being profaned in the eyes of the nations in whose sight I had brought them out.

But I kept myself from punishing them at that time. I wanted my name to be honored. So I kept it from being treated as if it were not holy. I did not want that to happen in front of the nations. They had seen me bring Israel out of Egypt.

But I withheld my hand and acted for the sake of my name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I had brought them out.

Nevertheless, I withdrew my judgment against them to protect the honor of my name before the nations that had seen my power in bringing them out of Egypt.

求你為你名的緣故，不要厭棄我們！不要叫你榮耀的寶座蒙羞！求你記念你和我們所立的約，不要廢除！

為了我的名的緣故，我暫時不發怒；為了我的名譽的緣故，我向你忍耐；不把你剪除。看哪！我熬煉了你，卻不像熬煉銀子；你在苦難的爐中，我揀選了你。為了我自己的緣故，為了我自己的緣故，我必作這事。我的名怎能被褻瀆呢？我必不把我的榮耀歸給別人。

他卻有憐憫，赦免罪孽，沒有把他們滅絕，並且多次抑制自己的怒氣，沒有完全宣洩他的烈怒。

就是把你的手縮回，遠離我身，又不使你的驚懼威嚇我。

“耶和華啊！即使我們的罪孽指證我們，還求你因你名的緣故施行拯救。我們實在多次背道，得罪了你。

雖然這樣，我的眼還是顧惜他們，不毀滅他們；我沒有在曠野把他們滅絕。

拯救我們的神啊！求你因你名的榮耀幫助我們；為你名的緣故，搭救我們，赦免我們的罪。為甚麼容外族人說：“他們的神在哪裡呢？”願我們親眼看見你在列邦中，使人知道你要為你僕人所流的血伸冤。

耶和華啊！因你名的緣故，求你赦免我的罪孽，因為我的罪孽重大。

耶和華定意要拆毀錫安居民（“居民”原文作“女子”）的城牆；他拉了準繩，決不停手，務要把它吞滅。他使堡壘和城牆都悲哀，一同受痛苦。

主啊！求你垂聽。主啊！求你赦免。主啊！求你應允而行。我的神啊！為了你自己的緣故，求你不要耽延。因為你的城和你的子民都是稱為你名下的。”

耶和華啊！不要把榮耀歸給我們，不要歸給我們；要因你的慈愛和信實把榮耀歸在你的名下。

現在，我們的神啊！求你垂聽你僕人的禱告和懇求；主啊！為了你自己的緣故，使你的臉光照你這荒涼了的聖所。
