But I withheld my hand, and for the sake of my name I did what would keep it from being profaned in the eyes of the nations in whose sight I had brought them out.

But I kept myself from punishing them at that time. I wanted my name to be honored. So I kept it from being treated as if it were not holy. I did not want that to happen in front of the nations. They had seen me bring Israel out of Egypt.

“我为了我的名，暂时忍怒；我为了我的荣耀，压住怒气，不消灭你。看啊，我熬炼你，但不像在火炉中炼银子，我是在苦难的炉中熬炼你。我这样做是为了自己，我岂能让自己的名受亵渎，把自己的荣耀给别人？

但上帝充满怜悯，赦免了他们的罪，没有毁灭他们。祂多次收住怒气，没有完全发出祂的烈怒。

求你把手从我身上挪开，不要用你的威严惊吓我。

耶和华啊，虽然我们的罪控告我们，我们屡屡叛逆得罪你，求你为了自己的尊名而拯救我们。

但我怜悯他们，没有毁灭他们，没有在旷野把他们全部灭绝。

拯救我们的上帝啊，求你为了自己荣耀的名而帮助我们，为你名的缘故拯救我们，赦免我们的罪。为何让列邦说：“他们的上帝在哪里？”求你让我们亲眼看见，也让列邦都知道，你为自己被害的子民申冤。

耶和华啊，我罪恶深重，求你为了自己的名而赦免我。

耶和华决意拆毁锡安的城墙，祂拉了准线，定意毁灭，决不停止。祂使城墙和壁垒一同悲哀哭泣。

主啊，求你垂听！主啊，求你赦免！主啊，求你应允，立刻行动！我的上帝啊，为你自己的缘故，求你不要耽延，因为这城和这民都属于你的名下。”

耶和华啊，不要将荣耀归于我们，不要归于我们。愿荣耀归于你的名，因为你慈爱、信实！

我们的上帝啊，求你垂听仆人的祷告祈求，为你自己的缘故，笑颜垂顾你荒凉的圣所。
