「『我在曠野曾對他們的子孫說，不要效法你們祖先的律例，不要遵守他們的規條，不要拜他們的偶像，以致玷污自己。

“我在旷野对他们的儿女说：不要遵行你们父亲的律例，不要谨守他们的恶规，也不要因他们的偶像玷污自己。

“我在旷野对他们的儿女说：‘不要遵行你们祖先的律例，不要谨守他们的规条，也不要用他们的偶像玷污自己。

“我在旷野对他们的儿女说：‘不要遵行你们祖先的律例，不要谨守他们的规条，也不要用他们的偶像玷污自己。

我在曠野、諭其子女曰、勿循爾父之典章、勿從其律例、勿以其偶像自染污衊、

當彼在曠野時、我告其子孫曰、勿效列祖之尤、勿從其所行、勿拜其所崇之偶像、自致污衊、

I said to their children in the wilderness,“ Do not follow the statutes of your parents or keep their laws or defile yourselves with their idols.

I spoke to their children there. I said,‘ Do not follow the rules your parents gave you. Do not obey their laws. Do not make yourselves“ unclean” by worshiping their gods.

“ And I said to their children in the wilderness,‘ Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, nor keep their rules, nor defile yourselves with their idols.

“ Then I warned their children not to follow in their parents’ footsteps, defiling themselves with their idols.

“‘ Then I said to their children in the wilderness,“ Don’t follow the statutes of your fathers, defile yourselves with their idols, or keep their ordinances.

“ Instead, I said to their children in the wilderness,‘ Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers or keep their ordinances or defile yourselves with their idols.

“ But I said to their children in the wilderness,‘ Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, nor observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols.

And I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their ordinances, nor defile yourselves with their idols.

“ Then I said to their children in the wilderness: Don’t follow the statutes of your fathers, defile yourselves with their idols, or keep their ordinances.

But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols:

“‘ But I said to their children in the wilderness,“ Do not follow the practices of your fathers; do not observe their regulations, nor defile yourselves with their idols.

I said to their children in the wilderness,‘ Don’t walk in the statutes of your fathers. Don’t observe their ordinances or defile yourselves with their idols.

我告訴他們要除掉他們祭拜的可憎之物，不可讓埃及的偶像玷污自己，因為我是他們的上帝耶和華。

你們親眼看見耶和華在巴力·毗珥事件中的作為，你們的上帝耶和華毀滅了你們中間所有拜巴力·毗珥的人，但你們這些信靠你們的上帝耶和華的人至今還活著。看啊，遵照我的上帝耶和華的吩咐，我把律例和典章傳授給你們，好讓你們在將要佔領的土地上遵守。你們要謹遵這些律例和典章，因為這樣就會讓外族人看見你們的智慧和聰明。他們聽見這些律法後，必說，『這偉大的民族真有智慧和聰明！』

要知道，你們從傳統的、沒有意義的生活中被救贖出來，不是靠金銀等會朽壞的東西，

「耶和華曾對你們的祖先大發怒氣。因此，你要告訴百姓，萬軍之耶和華說，『你們要歸向我，我就回到你們那裡。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。不要像你們的祖先一樣。以前的先知曾呼喚他們要聽從萬軍之耶和華的話，改邪歸正，停止作惡，他們卻置若罔聞，不予理會。這是耶和華說的。

我帶領你們進入肥沃之地，享受那裡富饒的物產。但你們一進來，就玷污我的地，使我的產業成為可憎之地。

好讓他們也照樣教導自己的子孫後代，世代相傳。這樣，他們就會信靠上帝，遵行祂的命令，不忘記祂的作為；也不會像自己的祖先那樣頑梗叛逆，對上帝不忠，心懷二意。

而你們必死在這曠野。你們的兒女要在曠野飄泊四十年，為你們的不忠而受苦，直到你們都死在曠野。

「你們這些頑固不化、耳不聽心不悔的人，經常抗拒聖靈，所作所為和你們的祖先如出一轍！

以色列肆意淫亂，拜石頭木頭，玷污了土地。

「你們有禍了，你們為先知修造墳墓，而他們正是被你們祖先殺害的！所以你們是見證人，你們讚同祖先的行為，因為他們殺了先知，你們為先知造墳墓。

耶和華向以色列人發怒，使他們在曠野漂泊了四十年，直到在耶和華面前作惡的那一代都死了。「現在，你們這群罪人的後代竟然重蹈前人的覆轍，加劇耶和華的怒氣。如果你們離棄祂，祂必再次把以色列人丟棄在曠野，這樣你們就毀了整個民族。」
