because they rejected my laws and did not follow my decrees and desecrated my Sabbaths. For their hearts were devoted to their idols.

But they turned their backs on my laws. They did not obey my rules. They misused my Sabbath days. Their hearts were committed to worshiping the statues of their gods.

以色列族乎、昔爾在曠野、歷四十年、何嘗以祭品禮物獻於我哉、當時爾攜爾神神原文作王米勒公米勒公即摩洛之龕、與爾所敬基芸之偶像、及爾所作以為神之星像、

摩押女祭其神、請民至、民遂食其祭物而拜其神、

當其幼年尚為處子時、在伊及行淫、人與其同寢、撫捫其乳、玷污其身、斯其淫行仍然不舍、

我列祖弗順從、反拒之、心中欲返伊及、謂亞倫曰、為我造神以導我、因摩西率我出伊及者、我不知其何往、當時乃造犢像、獻祭於像前、喜其手所作、於是天主離之、聽其奉事天上群星、如先知書所載云、以色列族乎、爾於曠野歷四十年、獻犧牲祭物、豈獻於我乎、爾又舁摩洛之龕、與爾神臉番之星、即爾所造之像欲拜之者、我將徙爾於巴比倫外、

然以色列族在曠野悖逆我、不遵我之律例、藐視我之法度、人若遵行、必由此得生、彼又大犯我之安息日、我言將震怒斯民、震怒斯民或作傾洩我之盛怒於斯民滅之於曠野、但因我曾在異邦人目前導之出、故我未行是、恐我名被異邦人褻慢、
