惟以色列家在曠野、悖逆乎我、不循我典章、棄我律例、人若遵行、則緣之得生、且犯我安息日特甚、我則曰、必在曠野、傾我怒以滅之、

“‘ Yet the people of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness. They did not follow my decrees but rejected my laws— by which the person who obeys them will live— and they utterly desecrated my Sabbaths. So I said I would pour out my wrath on them and destroy them in the wilderness.

“‘ “But in the desert the people of Israel refused to obey me. They did not follow my rules. They turned their backs on my laws. The person who obeys them will live by them. They totally misused my Sabbath days. So I said I would pour out my great anger on them. I would destroy them in the desert.

But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness. They did not walk in my statutes but rejected my rules, by which, if a person does them, he shall live; and my Sabbaths they greatly profaned.“ Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them in the wilderness, to make a full end of them.

“ But the people of Israel rebelled against me, and they refused to obey my decrees there in the wilderness. They wouldn’t obey my regulations even though obedience would have given them life. They also violated my Sabbath days. So I threatened to pour out my fury on them, and I made plans to utterly consume them in the wilderness.

“‘ But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness. They did not follow my statutes and they rejected my ordinances— the person who does them will live by them. They also completely profaned my Sabbaths. So I considered pouring out my wrath on them in the wilderness to put an end to them.

子孫背我、不遵我禮儀、犯我安息日、如有人守我法度、則可保生、惟彼不守、故我自謂、必在曠野、震怒斯眾、滅之務盡。

惟彼違逆、不從我命、不棄可惡之物、不毀埃及之偶像、故爾祖尚在埃及時、我已憤怒甚烈、欲降災其躬、

異邦之人、歸誠於我、供我役事、敬愛我耶和華名、若予臣僕、守我安息日而不凟、遵我誓約而不爽、

在何烈山、爾干厥怒、耶和華欲殲滅爾。

耶和華諭摩西曰、我顯異跡於斯民中、彼不篤信我、且欺侮我、伊於何底。我必降以疾疫、殄絕其族、使爾昌熾、成為大國、較彼尤眾。

爾出言怨我、故所見核者、自二十歲以上、俱暴骨於野、

爾勿阻我、我怒甚烈、盡滅斯族、昌熾爾裔、以成大邦。

昔於埃及、及至曠野、俱行異跡、顯我榮光、斯人目擊、猶且試我、至於十次、不聽我言、

諭曰、爾當速下、爾所導出埃及之民、已喪厥心、我示之道、違之甚速、鑄作偶像。又曰、我鑒此民、強項不馴、爾勿禱我、我盡滅之、塗抹其名於天下、我將使爾裔、較彼昌大眾多。我旋踵下山、厥火炎炎、手攜法律之二碑、我見爾、於爾上帝耶和華所示之道、違之甚速、鑄像如犢。我擲二碑、毀於爾前。爾既犯罪、行惡於耶和華前、以干厥怒、耶和華欲殲滅爾、我甚畏懼、仍伏其前、四旬晝夜、不食餅不飲水、耶和華允我所祈。

耶和華又曰、猶大犯罪、至三至四、更藐視我法度、不守我禮儀、其祖奉事虛偽、彼亦昏迷於道、故我必罰其罪、

蔑我禮儀侮我法度、干我誡命、違我盟約、

如拒此命、不第拒人、乃拒上帝、且上帝以厥聖神賜於我儕、

至七日、有適野以斂者、果無所得。耶和華諭摩西曰、斯民不守我誡命、奉我律例、將伊於何底。

耶和華諭摩西亞倫曰、爾當區別、離此會眾、俟我速滅之、

厥後斯民、忘其經綸、不俟其命兮、爰至曠野、縱欲妄行、以試上帝兮、主雖聽其祈、仍降以災兮。斯民在營、娼嫉摩西、維彼亞倫、上帝俾之作聖、民亦深忌之兮、地口孔張、吞噬大單、淹覆亞庇蘭之黨兮、火燃厥黨、焰焚惡眾兮。民在何烈、鑄犢成形、而崇拜之兮、昔歸榮上帝、今則不然、拜跪犢像、犢惟嚙蒭兮、上帝在埃及行異跡、在含作奇事、在紅海彰厥威、欲手援斯民、民忘之兮、

我所諭之道、彼違甚速、鑄犢崇拜祭祀、稱之曰以色列族乎、導爾出埃及之上帝、即此。

越在疇昔、我導斯民出於埃及、迄於今日、彼常棄我、服事他上帝、彼之待爾亦若是。

彼藐視我法度、不遵我禮儀、犯我安息日、心崇偶像。

此以薩迦之子孫、計六萬四千三百。○

蓋我知爾橫逆、強項不馴、我尚生存、與爾同在、爾猶且違逆耶和華、況至於我沒後乎。

離此會眾、我將速滅之、二人俯伏。

昔有犯摩西律法者、若二三人為證、必殺之不恤、況蹂躪上帝子、以贖己之約之血為不潔、狎侮施恩之聖神、爾意其人受刑、當如何重哉、

既藐視我命、干犯我律、其罪歸之、悉行殲滅。○以色列族居野時遇人於安息日採薪、遂攜之至摩西亞倫、及會眾前、若何處置、猶未定擬、故囚於獄。耶和華諭摩西曰、其人必殺毋赦、會眾必於營外、擊之以石。遂攜出營外、以石擊之、遵耶和華諭摩西之命。○

以色列民蔑我法度、憾我禮儀、使其故土遠離、田疇荒寂、於斯時也、土地得享安息、待民服罪。

斯民在野、干主震怒、俾主懷憂兮、試上帝、一而再、以色列族之聖主、心彌憂戚兮、

當時之民、即我列祖、妄自矜詡、強項不馴、不聽從爾命、不追念爾所行之異跡、倔強猶昔、背爾立牧、歸於服役之地、乃爾特加赦宥、仁慈矜憫、恆忍施恩、不棄斯民。民鑄金為犢、自謂導民出埃及之上帝即此、於是干爾震怒、

斯民違逆、使聖神懷憂、故耶和華視若讎民、而攻擊之。

上帝曰至於今日、爾願聽從吾言、不剛愎乃心、如昔民之觝觸我、試我於野兮、爾祖觀我行事、亦嘗試我、歷四十載、我憾當時之人曰、厥心常迷、不識余途兮。予怒而誓之、毋俾斯人、享余安息兮。

棄道者取敗亡、畏命者贋賞賚。

何藐視我命、行惡於我前、藉亞捫族之刃、殺赫人烏利亞、而取其妻為妻。
