And as for you, son of man, you are not to fear them nor fear their words, though thistles and thorns are with you and you sit on scorpions; you are not to fear their words nor be dismayed at their presence, since they are a rebellious house.

“ And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you and you dwell among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, though they are a rebellious house.

And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.

看，我已經給了你們權柄去踐踏蛇和蠍子，又勝過仇敵一切的勢力，絕不會有什麼能傷害你們了。

「我，是我安慰你們；你是誰，竟怕那必死的人，就是那被棄如草芥的世人；

因著信，他不怕王的憤怒，離開了埃及，因為他恆心忍耐，如同看見了不可見的那一位。

然而，即使你們為義受苦，也是蒙福的。不要怕他們所懼怕的，也不要驚慌不安，

實際上，神所賜給我們的，不是膽怯的靈，而是大能、慈愛、自制的靈。

這世代的眼目多麼高傲！連他的眼皮也高高抬起。這世代的牙齒如劍，尖牙如刀，要吞噬地上的困苦人和世人中的貧窮人。

「我的朋友，我告訴你們：不要怕那些殺了身體以後不能再做什麼的人。

也為我祈求，好使我在開口的時候被賜予話語，能坦然無懼地讓人明白福音的奧祕——

邪惡如火焚燒，吞噬荊棘和蒺藜，點燃樹林中的密叢，煙柱旋轉上騰。

你們不要怕那些能殺死身體卻不能殺死靈魂的；反而倒要懼怕那位能把靈魂和身體都毀滅在地獄裡的。

在任何事上都不被反對你們的人嚇倒——這對他們是滅亡的證明，而對你們卻是得救的證明，並且這是出於神。

他們看見彼得和約翰的膽量，又了解他們是沒有學問的普通人，就感到驚奇，並且了解他們是曾經與耶穌在一起的；

主啊，現在求你鑒察他們的威嚇，使你的奴僕們能滿有膽量地傳講你的話語。

但卑劣的人全都像荊棘那樣被丟棄，不能用手去拿；誰觸碰它，就必須配備鐵器和槍桿；它必在原地被火燒盡。

可是彼得和約翰回答說：「聽從你們過於聽從神，在神面前是理所當然的嗎？你們自己判斷吧！

有蝗蟲從煙中出來，到了地上；牠們被賜予了能力，就像地上的蠍子所具有的能力那樣。有話吩咐牠們不可傷害地上的草、任何綠色植物、任何樹木，只可傷害那些額上沒有神印記的人；可是不准許殺死這些人，只可使他們受折磨五個月。他們所受的折磨，就像人被蠍子螫到時的折磨那樣。在那些日子裡，人們將會求死，卻絕不得死；他們渴望死，死卻逃避他們。

「你們這些認識公義、把我的律法存在心裡的子民哪，要聽我的話！你們不要害怕人的辱罵，也不要因他們的毀謗而喪膽。
