惟爾人子、雖居荊棘蒺藜與蠍之中、勿畏之、亦勿畏其言、彼雖悖逆之家、勿畏其言、勿懼其貌、

“ But you, son of man, do not be afraid of them and do not be afraid of their words, even though briers and thorns are beside you and you live among scorpions. Don’t be afraid of their words or discouraged by the look on their faces, for they are a rebellious house.

And as for you, son of man, you are not to fear them nor fear their words, though thistles and thorns are with you and you sit on scorpions; you are not to fear their words nor be dismayed at their presence, since they are a rebellious house.

“ And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you and you dwell among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, though they are a rebellious house.

誰也不要怕，因為我與你同在，我必拯救你。這是耶和華說的。」

他們當中最好的不過是蒺藜，最正直的也不過是荊棘籬笆。你們的守望者所說的日子，就是你們受懲罰的日子已經來到。你們必驚慌失措。

現在，你要做好準備，去把我吩咐你的話告訴他們。不要懼怕他們，不然我將使你在他們面前充滿恐懼。

我已經給你們權柄，使你們能踐踏蛇和蠍子，勝過仇敵的權勢，沒有什麼能傷害你們。

耶和華說：「安慰你們的是我，是我。你為什麼要害怕難逃一死、生命如草芥的世人呢？

他憑信心離開埃及，不怕王的憤怒。他堅忍不拔，好像看見了肉眼不能看見的主。

就算你們為義受苦，也是有福的。不要害怕別人的恐嚇，也不要驚慌，

因為上帝賜給我們的不是懦弱的心，而是剛強、仁愛、自律的心。

有一種人趾高氣揚，目空一切。有一種人牙如劍，齒如刀，要吞吃世間的困苦人和貧窮人。

「朋友們，我告訴你們，不要懼怕那些殺害人的身體後再也無計可施的人。

也請你們為我禱告，求上帝賜我口才，讓我勇敢地把福音的奧祕講解明白。

不過，我要使你的臉像他們的臉一樣硬，使你的額像他們的額一樣硬。我要使你的額比火石更硬，如同金剛石。他們雖然是一群叛逆的人，你不要害怕，也不要因為他們的臉色而驚慌。」

耶和華的天使對以利亞說：「不要害怕，跟他去吧！」以利亞就起來跟他去見王。

邪惡像燃燒的火焰，焚毀荊棘和蒺藜，點燃密林，煙柱旋轉上騰。

那些只能殺害身體，不能毀滅靈魂的人，不用怕他們。但要畏懼那位有權將身體和靈魂一同毀滅在地獄裡的上帝。

同時，我要使你的舌頭緊貼上膛，使你不能開口責備他們，因為他們是一群叛逆的人。但當我對你說話的時候，我必開啟你的口，你要向他們宣告，『主耶和華這樣說。』肯聽的就讓他聽，不肯聽的就由他不聽，因為他們是一群叛逆的人。」

毫不懼怕敵人的恐嚇。這清楚表明他們必滅亡，你們必得救，這是出於上帝。

伯特利的祭司亞瑪謝派人告訴以色列王耶羅波安：「阿摩司在以色列家圖謀背叛你，我們國家無法容忍他的言論。因為阿摩司這樣說，『耶羅波安將喪身刀下，以色列人必被擄去，遠離家鄉。』」亞瑪謝對我說：「先見啊，走吧！逃回猶大去吧！你要在那裡掙吃的，在那裡說預言。不可再在伯特利說預言，這裡是王的聖所，是國廟。」我答道：「我本不是先知，也不是先知的門徒。我只是一個牧人，也替人看護桑樹。但耶和華不再讓我看守羊群，祂對我說，『去！向我的以色列子民說預言。』亞瑪謝啊，你說，『不要說攻擊以色列的預言，不要傳講攻擊以撒子孫的信息。』現在你要聽耶和華對你說的話。耶和華說，『你的妻子必在這城裡淪為妓女，你的兒女必喪身刀下，你的田地必被人丈量、瓜分，你自己必死在異鄉。以色列人必被擄去，遠離家鄉。』」

在場的人看到彼得和約翰的膽量，又知道他們原是沒有學問的平民百姓，都很驚奇。他們認出這些人跟隨過耶穌，

主啊，你看他們這樣恐嚇我們，求你幫助你的奴僕們坦然無懼地傳你的道。

至於我，因有耶和華的靈，我充滿權能、正義和力量，能向雅各宣告他的過犯，向以色列宣告他的罪惡。

「『藐視以色列人的鄰邦必不再作刺他們的荊棘，傷他們的蒺藜，這樣人們就知道我是主耶和華。』

他們說：「來！我們設計對付耶利米吧，反正我們有祭司教導律法，有智者出謀劃策，有先知傳講預言。來吧！我們抨擊他，不要理會他的話。」

但惡人要像荊棘一樣被丟棄，沒人用手碰他們，人要拿鐵器和長矛把他們收集起來焚毀。」

但彼得和約翰答道：「要我們聽從你們而不聽從上帝，這在上帝看來合理嗎？你們自己想想吧。

有蝗蟲從煙裡飛出來，落到地上，有地上蠍子的能力賜給牠們。牠們得到命令，不得毀壞地上的青草、樹木和其他植物，只傷害額上沒有上帝印記的人，但不可殺死他們，只折磨他們五個月。那種折磨就像被蠍子蟄到一樣。那時候，人求死，卻求不到；想死，死卻躲避他們。

認識公義、銘記我訓誨的人啊，聽我說。你們不要害怕人的辱罵，也不要畏懼他們的譭謗。

他們頑固不化，如銅如鐵，四處譭謗，極其敗壞。
