“ You will not use that proverb in Israel anymore,” announces the Lord and King.“ And that is just as sure as I am alive.

主天主曰、以色列族歟、我必循爾人人所行以鞫爾、爾當悛改愆尤、恐愆尤罹爾喪敗、爾當悛改愆尤恐愆尤罹爾喪敗或作爾當悛改離爾罪愆恐爾愆尤陷爾於禍

爾曹猶問曰、子何不負父之罪耶、但子為義行善、謹守遵行我諸律例、自得生存、惟犯罪之人必死、子不負父罪、父不負子罪、善人之善歸己、惡人之惡歸已、

我儕知律法所言、為律法下之人言之、以塞諸口、使舉世服罪於天主前、

爾追念爾之惡行、及諸不善之作為、則因爾之罪愆、及爾諸可憎之事、自怨自恨、主天主曰、以色列族歟、爾曹當知我行此、非為爾故、爾曹當因爾之行為、含羞抱愧、
