“唯有我为自己的缘故，涂抹你的过犯，我也不再记念你的罪。

“义人若转离他的义去行恶，照着恶人所行一切可憎的事而行，他能存活吗？他所行的一切义都不会被记念；他必因他所行不忠的事和他所犯的罪而灭亡。

求你不要记念我幼年的罪恶和我的过犯；耶和华啊！求你因你的恩惠，按着你的慈爱记念我。

我也要宽恕他们的不义，决不再记着他们的罪恶。’”

可是那些祭品，却使人每年都想起罪来，因为公牛和山羊的血不能把罪除去。

正因这缘故，你们要多多努力：有了信心，又要增添美德；有了美德，又要增添知识；有了知识，又要增添节制；有了节制，又要增添忍耐；有了忍耐，又要增添敬虔；有了敬虔，又要增添弟兄的爱；有了弟兄的爱，还要增添神圣的爱。因为你们有了这几样，并且继续增长，就必叫你们在确实认识我们的主耶稣基督上，不至于闲懒不结果子。人若没有这几样，就是近视，简直是瞎眼的，忘记他过去的罪已经得了洁净。所以弟兄们，要更加努力，使你们所蒙的呼召和拣选坚定不移；你们若实行这几样，就决不会跌倒。这样，你们就得着充分的装备，可以进入我们的主和救主耶稣基督永远的国。

过犯得蒙赦免，罪恶得到遮盖的人，是有福的。（本节在《马索拉文本》包括细字标题）心里没有诡诈，耶和华不算为有罪的，这人是有福的。

所以现在，那些在耶稣基督里的人就不被定罪了；

东离西有多远，他使我们的过犯离我们也有多远。

不要自欺，神是不可轻慢的。人种的是什么，收的也是什么：顺着自己的肉体撒种的，必定从肉体收取败坏；顺着圣灵撒种的，必定从圣灵收取永生。

于是妇人对以利亚说：“神人哪，我跟你有什么关系呢？你竟到我这里来，使耶和华想起我的罪孽，杀死我的儿子。”

神啊！求你按着你的慈爱恩待我，照着你丰盛的怜悯涂抹我的过犯。

求你从天上垂听，施行你的作为，审判你的仆人，照着恶人所行的报应在他头上；宣告义人无罪，照着他的义行赏赐他。

我们的祖先亚伯拉罕，把他的儿子以撒献在祭坛上，不是因行为称义吗？你看，他的信心与行为是一致的，信心就因着行为得到完全了；这正应验了经上所说的：“亚伯拉罕信神，这就算为他的义。”他也被称为神的朋友。可见人称义是因着行为，不仅是因着信心。照样，妓女喇合接待了探子，又从另一条路把他们送走，不也是因行为称义吗？身体没有灵魂是死的，照样，信心没有行为也是死的。

他们各人必不再教导自己的邻舍和自己的同胞，说：‘你们要认识耶和华。’因为所有的人，从最小到最大的都必认识我。我也要赦免他们的罪孽，不再记着他们的罪恶。”这是耶和华的宣告。

并且你的仆人也藉着这些得到警戒，谨守这些就得着大赏赐。

神必照各人所作的报应各人：以永生报答那些耐心行善、寻求荣耀尊贵和不朽的人，
