猶大人、耶路撒冷居民、及以色列眾、因獲罪於主、主逐之散於各邦、或近或遠、有若今日之景況、我儕遭此、面蒙羞愧、惟主至公至義、主歟、我儕君王、我儕牧伯、我儕列祖獲罪於主、面蒙羞愧、

此乃主之所行、我惟緘默不啟口、

爾追念爾之惡行、及諸不善之作為、則因爾之罪愆、及爾諸可憎之事、自怨自恨、主天主曰、以色列族歟、爾曹當知我行此、非為爾故、爾曹當因爾之行為、含羞抱愧、

與爾所立之約外、我以爾之姊妹、賜爾為女、或作我以爾之姊妹賜爾為女不循與爾所立之約爾受之之時、爾追憶疇昔所行之事、自覺愧怍、

然則有何可誇乎、無有、以何法無之、以行之法乎、非也、乃以信之法、

我天主歟、我含羞負愧、不敢向我天主仰面、蓋我儕罪惡滅頂、我儕愆尤滔天、

然則爾必語我云、天主何尚責人哉、誰能抗拒其旨乎、我則曰、爾何人、敢詰問天主乎、受造之物、豈能對造者云、何造我若此乎、

我之過惡、多至難堪、我之愆尤、主必赦免、

求我救主、因主名之榮耀、保祐我儕、拯救我儕、因主之名赦免我罪、

是以凡爾議人者、無可推諉、蓋爾何以議人、適以罪己、因爾所議者、己亦行之、

爾異乎人、誰使爾異、爾何所有而非受之乎、既受之何誇似未受乎、

昔我眾亦在其內、逞肉體之慾、隨身心所欲而行、本為天主所怒、與他人無異、惟天主之矜恤甚宏、以大愛愛我儕、當我儕陷於罪愆若死之時、乃使我儕同基督復活、爾曹以恩得救矣、

人生於世、何可怨讟、惟當自責己罪、

昔我儕亦無知、背逆、迷惑、役於嗜慾及諸淫佚、常行暴很媢嫉之事、且為人所惡、而彼此相惡、惟我救主天主矜憐仁愛顯著之時、拯救我、非由我行義之功、乃由其矜恤、使我受洗重生、賜我聖神以復新、原文作拯救我非由我行義之功乃由重生之洗與聖神之復新而救我儕聖神乃天主因我救主耶穌基督、厚賜我儕、使我賴其恩寵而得稱義、希望為嗣子得永生、

我甚輕賤、何以答主、惟以手掩口、我已言之一而再、不敢復言復答、

是以我儕既由信稱義、則賴我主耶穌基督、得與天主復和、我儕又因耶穌由信得前進而蒙此恩寵、並得立於其中、且望天主之榮為樂、且望天主之榮為樂或作因望天主之榮而誇
