時、巴比倫王之軍旅攻耶路撒冷、與猶大所餘之邑、即拉吉與亞西加、蓋猶大堅城、僅存其二也、○西底家王與耶路撒冷民立約、宣告自由之後、耶和華諭耶利米之言、其約命人各釋僕婢、希伯來男女、使之自由、不以同族猶大人為隸役、牧伯庶民既與此約、悉遵行之、各釋其僕婢、使之自由、不復以為隸役、後乃反悔、令其所釋僕婢、歸而事之、仍為僕婢、

法老剛愎厥心、不聽從之、如耶和華所言、○耶和華諭摩西曰、法老心頑、不欲釋民、

耶和華諭摩西曰、汝歸時、我所示爾之異蹟、務行於法老前、我將使之剛愎厥心、不釋斯民、

故曰、爾今日若聞其言、勿剛愎乃心、猶昔激怒時也、

勿剛愎乃心、猶昔之激怒、即試我於野之日、

或以民遁告埃及王、法老與羣臣乃變厥心、曰、奚為釋以色列族、俾不服役於我、

惟彼不從、而轉其肩、塞耳不聽、鐵石其心、不聽法律、與萬軍之耶和華以其神藉古先知所傳之言、緣此、萬軍之耶和華大發其怒、

屢受斥責、仍復強項、敗亡必速、無術可治、

人為酷熱所曝、遂謗讟掌此諸災上帝之名、又弗改悔、而以榮歸之、○

以法蓮歟、我將何以待爾、猶大歟、我將何以待爾、蓋爾之仁義、有若朝雲、又如速消之露、
