法老又说：“这地方的以色列人如此众多，你竟叫他们停止工作！”

又说：“看哪，这地的以色列人如今众多，你们竟叫他们歇下担子！”

他又说：“看哪，这地的以色列人如今这么多，你们竟然叫他们歇下劳役！”

他又说：“看哪，这地的以色列人如今这么多，你们竟然叫他们歇下劳役！”

法老又说：“你看，现在这地的民很多，你们竟叫他们歇下担子？”

又說：「看哪，這地的以色列人如今眾多，你們竟叫他們歇下擔子！」

他又說：「看哪，這地的以色列人如今這麼多，你們竟然叫他們歇下勞役！」

他又說：「看哪，這地的以色列人如今這麼多，你們竟然叫他們歇下勞役！」

法老又說：「這地方的以色列人如此眾多，你竟叫他們停止工作！」

法老又說：“你看，現在這地的民很多，你們竟叫他們歇下擔子？”

法老說：『看哪，這地的人民如今很多，你們竟叫他們歇下擔子。』

又曰、斯民眾多、爾乃弛其負擔、

又曰、此族眾多、爾使之不負戴曷故。○

法老又曰、斯民眾多、爾竟欲使之不服役乎、

Then Pharaoh said,“ Look, the people of the land are now numerous, and you are stopping them from working.”

Pharaoh continued,“ There are large numbers of your people in the land. But you are stopping them from working.”

And Pharaoh said,“ Behold, the people of the land are now many, and you make them rest from their burdens!”

Look, there are many of your people in the land, and you are stopping them from their work.”

Pharaoh also said,“ Look, the people of the land are so numerous, and you would stop them from their labor.”

Again Pharaoh said,“ Look, the people of the land are now many, and you would have them cease from their labors!”

And Pharaoh said,“ Look, the people of the land are many now, and you make them rest from their labor!”

And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land are now many, and ye make them rest from their burdens.

Pharaoh also said,“ Look, the people of the land are so numerous, and you would stop them from working.”

And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land now[ are] many, and ye make them rest from their burdens.

Pharaoh was thinking,“ The people of the land are now many, and you are giving them rest from their labor.”

Pharaoh said,“ Behold, the people of the land are now many, and you make them rest from their burdens.”

人民众多，是君王的荣耀；没有臣民，君主必然败亡。

以色列人生养众多，人口大增，很快就遍布埃及，成为一个强大的民族。那时，埃及有一位不认识约瑟的新王登基，对他的百姓说：“你们看，以色列人比我们多，又比我们强。来吧！我们要设法阻止他们人口增长，否则一遇到战争，他们便会加入我们敌人的阵营来攻打我们，然后一走了之。”于是，埃及人派监工强迫以色列人服劳役，在比东和兰塞两地为法老兴建储货城。
