你要把手杖帶在身邊，以便行神蹟。」

摩西的兩個兒子一個叫革舜，因為摩西說：「我成了在異鄉寄居的人」；一個叫以利以謝，因為摩西說：「我父親的上帝幫助我，從法老的刀下拯救了我。」

接著，摩西舉起手中的杖擊打磐石兩下，水便噴湧而出，會眾和牲畜都喝了。

耶和華對摩西說：「你手裡拿的是什麼？」摩西說：「是一根手杖。」
