他的母親是但支派的人，父親是泰爾人。他精於雕刻和設計，善用金銀銅鐵和木石製造物品，又會編織紫色、藍色、朱紅色的布和細麻布。你可以讓他與你的工匠和你父親大衛的工匠一起工作。

一切良善的施予和完美的恩賜都是從天上，從眾光之父那裡來的。祂不像轉動的影子變幻無常。

耶和華的靈必住在他身上，使他有聰明和智慧、謀略和能力，能認識並敬畏耶和華。他必以敬畏耶和華為樂。他不憑眼見施行審判，不憑耳聞斷定是非，而是按公義審判貧窮人，以公正為受苦者斷案。他必用口中的杖擊打世界，以嘴裡的氣殺戮惡人。公義必作他的腰帶，信實必作他肋下的帶子。

一切智慧和知識都蘊藏在祂裡面。

恩賜各有不同，但聖靈是同一位。事奉各有不同，但主是同一位。工作各有不同，但上帝是同一位，祂在眾人當中成就萬事。聖靈給各人不同的恩賜為要使眾人得益處。這人從聖靈領受智言，那人從聖靈領受知識；聖靈賜這人信心，賜那人醫病的恩賜；聖靈使這人能行神蹟，使那人能作先知講道；使這人能辨別諸靈，使那人能說方言，又使另一人能翻譯方言。

主耶和華的靈在我身上，因為耶和華膏立了我，讓我傳福音給貧窮的人，差遣我醫治傷心的人，宣告被擄的人得釋放、被囚的人得自由；宣告我們上帝耶和華的恩年和祂報仇的日子，安慰一切悲哀的人；以華冠取代錫安哀傷者頭上的灰塵，以喜樂的膏油取代他們的哀傷，以頌讚的外袍取代他們的沮喪。他們將被稱為耶和華所栽種的公義橡樹，以彰顯祂的榮耀。

因為上帝指點他，教導他耕種之道。
