會堂管事因惱怒耶穌在安息日治病，就公然對羣眾說：『有六天應當作工；故此六天之內儘可以來治病，可不要在安息之日啊。』

六日要作工，但第七日你們卻要守為聖日，做歸永恆主完全歇工的安息日；凡在這日作工的、必須被處死。

那城的長老要把那母牛犢牽下去到一個有活水長流的谿谷、就是未曾被耕種過、未曾被撒過種的，在那裏、就在谿谷間、把那母牛犢的脖子打折了。

這兩年境內已經鬧了饑荒：還有五年，不能耕種，不能收割。

他必派他們做他的千夫長、五十夫長，犂他所當犂的田，收割他所可收割的，製造他的戰器和車上的器械。

然後回去，豫備香料香膏。安息日便遵照誡命靜歇着。

六日要勞碌，作你一切的工。但第七日是屬永恆主你的上帝的安息日；這一日、你跟你兒子和女兒、你奴僕和使女、你的牲口、以及你城內的寄居者，一切的工都不可作。因為六日之內、永恆主造天、地、海、和其中的萬物，第七日便歇息；所以永恆主賜福與安息之日，分別為聖。

耕種土地的牛和驢駒必喫加鹽的料，就是用木杴和杈子揚淨的。

『「要守安息日，分別為聖，照永恆主你的上帝所吩咐你的。六日要勞碌，作你一切的工。但第七日是屬永恆主你的上帝的安息日；這一日、你跟你兒子和女兒、你奴僕和使女、你的牛、驢、和一切牲口、以及你城內的寄居者，一切的工都不可作，好叫你的奴僕和使女可以和你一樣歇息。你要記得你在埃及地也作過奴僕；永恆主你的上帝用大力的手和伸出的膀臂、將你從那裏領出來；故此永恆主你的上帝吩咐你要遵守安息日的制度。
