Redeem the firstborn donkey with a lamb, but if you do not redeem it, break its neck. Redeem all your firstborn sons.“ No one is to appear before me empty-handed.

Therefore, you shall keep this ordinance at its appointed time from year to year.

And the Levites shall be Mine; I am the Lord.And as a redemption price for the 273 of the firstborn of the sons of Israel who are in excess of the number of the Levites,you shall take five shekels apiece, per head; you shall take them in terms of the shekel of the sanctuary( the shekel is twenty gerahs),and you shall give the money, the redemption price of those who are in excess among them, to Aaron and to his sons.”So Moses took the redemption money from those who were in excess of the number of those redeemed by the Levites;from the firstborn of the sons of Israel he took the money in terms of the shekel of the sanctuary, 1,365.Then Moses gave the redemption money to Aaron and to his sons, at the command of the Lord, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

However, the king said to Araunah,“ No, but I will certainly buy it from you for a price; for I will not offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God that cost me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.
