也不要拜偶像，像他们有人拜的。如经上所记：“百姓坐下吃喝，起来玩耍。”

那时，他们造了一个牛犊，又拿祭物献给那像，欢喜自己手中的工作。神就转脸不顾，任凭他们侍奉天上的日月星辰，正如先知书上所写的说：‘以色列家啊，你们四十年间在旷野，岂是将牺牲和祭物献给我吗？

住在地上的人就为他们欢喜快乐，互相馈送礼物，因这两位先知曾叫住在地上的人受痛苦。

他们在各坛旁铺人所当的衣服，卧在其上，又在他们神的庙中喝受罚之人的酒。

约书亚一听见百姓呼喊的声音，就对摩西说：“在营里有争战的声音。”摩西说：“这不是人打胜仗的声音，也不是人打败仗的声音；我所听见的乃是人歌唱的声音。”摩西挨近营前就看见牛犊，又看见人跳舞，便发烈怒，把两块版扔在山下摔碎了，

我必使你们的节期变为悲哀，歌曲变为哀歌。众人腰束麻布，头上光秃，使这场悲哀如丧独生子，至终如痛苦的日子一样。”

摩西将耶和华的命令都写上。清早起来，在山下筑一座坛，按以色列十二支派立十二根柱子，又打发以色列人中的少年人去献燔祭，又向耶和华献牛为平安祭。
