摩西回答：“这不是战胜的呼声，也不是战败的呼声；我听见的是歌唱的声音。”

摩西說：「這不是人打勝仗的聲音，也不是人打敗仗的聲音；我所聽見的乃是人歌唱的聲音。」

摩西說：「這不是打勝仗的聲音，也不是打敗仗的聲音，我聽見的是歌唱的聲音。」

摩西回答：“這不是戰勝的呼聲，也不是戰敗的呼聲；我聽見的是歌唱的聲音。”

摩西說：『這不是打勝仗呼應的聲音，也不是打敗仗呼應的聲音；我所聽見的乃是唱和的聲音。』

曰、非戰勝之聲、亦非戰敗之聲、我所聞者、乃謳歌之聲也、

又曰、我聽其音、非勝非敗、乃謳歌之聲。

曰、此非戰勝之聲、亦非戰敗之聲、所聞者乃謳歌之聲、

Moses replied:“ It is not the sound of victory, it is not the sound of defeat; it is the sound of singing that I hear.”

Moses replied,“ It’s not the sound of winning. It’s not the sound of losing. It’s the sound of singing that I hear.”

But he said,“ It is not the sound of shouting for victory, or the sound of the cry of defeat, but the sound of singing that I hear.”

But Moses replied,“ No, it’s not a shout of victory nor the wailing of defeat. I hear the sound of a celebration.”

But Moses replied, It’s not the sound of a victory cry and not the sound of a cry of defeat; I hear the sound of singing!

But he said,“ It is not the sound of the cry of victory, Nor is it the sound of the cry of defeat; But I hear the sound of singing.”

But he said:“ It is not the noise of the shout of victory, Nor the noise of the cry of defeat, But the sound of singing I hear.”

And he said, It is not the voice of them that shout for mastery, neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome; but the noise of them that sing do I hear.

But Moses replied: It’s not the sound of a victory cry and not the sound of a cry of defeat; I hear the sound of singing!

And he said,[ It is] not the voice of[ them that] shout for mastery, neither[ is it] the voice of[ them that] cry for being overcome:[ but] the noise of[ them that] sing do I hear.

Moses said,“ It is not the sound of those who shout for victory, nor is it the sound of those who cry because they are overcome, but the sound of singing I hear.”

He said,“ It isn’t the voice of those who shout for victory. It is not the voice of those who cry for being overcome; but the noise of those who sing that I hear.”

Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord:“ I will sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted. Both horse and driver he has hurled into the sea.“ The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is his name.Pharaoh’s chariots and his army he has hurled into the sea. The best of Pharaoh’s officers are drowned in the Red Sea.The deep waters have covered them; they sank to the depths like a stone.Your right hand, Lord, was majestic in power. Your right hand, Lord, shattered the enemy.“ In the greatness of your majesty you threw down those who opposed you. You unleashed your burning anger; it consumed them like stubble.By the blast of your nostrils the waters piled up. The surging waters stood up like a wall; the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea.The enemy boasted,‘ I will pursue, I will overtake them. I will divide the spoils; I will gorge myself on them. I will draw my sword and my hand will destroy them.’But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.Who among the gods is like you, Lord? Who is like you— majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?“ You stretch out your right hand, and the earth swallows your enemies.In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling.The nations will hear and tremble; anguish will grip the people of Philistia.The chiefs of Edom will be terrified, the leaders of Moab will be seized with trembling, the people of Canaan will melt away;terror and dread will fall on them. By the power of your arm they will be as still as a stone— until your people pass by, Lord, until the people you bought pass by.You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of your inheritance— the place, Lord, you made for your dwelling, the sanctuary, Lord, your hands established.“ The Lord reigns for ever and ever.” (niv)

As they drank the wine, they praised the gods of gold and silver, of bronze, iron, wood and stone. (niv)

Instead, you have set yourself up against the Lord of heaven. You had the goblets from his temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways. (niv)
